Searchlight Simulations GE AC4400CW
As you can read from the title, the post is about that Locomotive. My question now is: Are there any custom skins for that Locomotive? It's really weird to run only Canadian Pacific skins in other american routes so i was searching for some custom skins that can match the setting (for example a Southern Pacific AC44 for Donner Pass ecc...).

I see. That's quite sad since Searchlight Simulations have made a really beautiful and detailed locomotive in only the the Canadian Pacific Golden Beaver skin. As for the Techachapi Pass, looks like i'll have to buy the addon. Say, what would happen if i download the non-steam version skins if i have the one from Steam?

Canadian Skins ? Cause there are a few on the USA side. Defaults come with Union Pacific & Flag, plus BNSF, also a worn black.

The Searchlight Simulations AC44 only comes with the Golden Beaver skin, they also made an SD70ACU But most of it's skins are Canadian based. There is only one other skin which is for the Norfolk & Southern, but that doesn't help much since i'm looking for additional AC44 skins ( Searchlight Simulations one ) and because i don't own any routes where the N&S operates.

I know this isn't much help to your question but wish i could help with it. But i just wanted to let you know the steam summer sale comes June 27th till July 11th, Most games will be 70-80% off and most DLC's will be 50-60% off so wait if you're going to buy a add-on here on steam.

I have not the Searchlight Simulations GE AC4400CW yet, but I am planning to get it. But I would prefer to do it via the GE AC4400CW - UP, which release, seems right now to be frozen. There is also the CP bundle, but I am not a fan of heritage units.

I am not aware of the difficulty to repaint that model, but I guess it must be so because you don´t see any repaint of the 4400 out there. I am not sure either if a repaint of the 4400 is allowed to make it public by SS.

Even so, the SS AC4400CW is light years from the DTG one released with Tehachapi. Not only the sounds and lights (which it would classify it as an enhancement), but the strong work put inside the cab panels for driving it.

If you love Realism then go ahead and get it. It's a very beautiful locomotive and imo that's what Train Simulation Games should be really about.

I will indeed at some time, though I am mostly in love with their simple enhancements and most of my mods are addressed to those.

I also have several of their JointedRail SD40-2 packages. There I like to be sure every DP unit is communicating with the lead units.

The SS Team has also ported some JointedRail Rolling stock, if you're interested that is.

I am not just well aware about the JR cars, but what happens is that they are indispensable to use in the SD40-2, 4400 and ACU´s trains, because they have a required scripting that allows to communicate from the lead power to any DP power in the train. Check in the manuals for multiple units trains.
