But I had the same problem when the AI train was lower down the order (i.e. low speed freight).
I understand the principle of priorities with different types of train but that doesn't explain why an AI train of equal or lower priority wouldn't, at least, move at its allotted time - even if only to the next signal.
(I have also had dispatcher trouble with scenarios, with trains that I know should be able to pass one another over crossings with the timings and order I try to specify, yet the dispatcher refuses... Single line working and the TS Dispatcher are no good friends)
I want the player train to be cleared to proceed over the first double track section to the start of the single track section and then be held there until the AI train passes.
If I raise the priority of the AI train above that of the player train, the dispatcher gives it (the AI train) priority right through and I can't move the player train up to the start of the single track section until the AI train has passed right through.
As you say, single line working and the dispatcher are not good friends. I'm guessing I'm going to have to try something else.
