Class 68

It's nice to see that the Class 68 is finally coming to Train Simulator, I know it's another engine that runs on British track but I still think it would make a good add on for the WCML North or Trent Valley route :)

That's true but isn't it DRS that use them via Carlisle on the WCML?

Well they'd need to get permission from AP, plus the Class 82/1 DVT was specifically designed for use with the Class 90, so either those features will need to be removed, or added to the 68.

Well actually, I was thinking more of 3rd party stuff, although of course it would be great of DTG could repackage it but that is unlikely. There are already loads of reskins for that on sites like DPS and of course UKTrainsim. Also, I happen to know that the GEML 90 mk3s and DVT work perfectly well with a Diesel loco instead of the usual class 90.

Heres a good example, I've played this and works perfectly from the DVT.

AP is 3rd party ... they'd need permission from AP to repaint the one with the Class 90 pack. Also that scenario you posted probably uses the watered down version with most of its features stripped, although even those can occasionally cause issues. I used to use them with 87's all the time (still no Swallow livery 87 :( ).

I know, I said that i'm sure that a 3rd party will do a reskin, like on DPS or UKTrainsim, etc. at some point in the near future and they wont need permission. Yes, I believe this is a 'HUD' version but, hey, it;s better than nothing and it works. So anyway, back to the original point, they can be used with the Class 68 and if someone did a proper reskin on DPS, so much the better.

Yeah that's mostly what I've been using, but far less yellow on the front of the Swallow Livery.

VP should get this out a some point, I believe what you see here is InterCity Mainline rather than Swallow, but looking at the detail VP are going into Swallow will surely still be included:

Well it seems the intention was for it to be released in Direct Rail Services livery, since it seems DTG are now rather desperately trying to get permission from them to use it.

It baffles me that they could get this[train-simulator.com] far into development and only recently asked them about it. I guess it'll either be Chiltern Railways or ScotRail, probably more likely the former.
