TGV Atlantique route. I am at a loss with starting the train >_<.
Hello everyone.

I bought the TGV Atlantique route that includes these trains and being into fast trains and all. I was hoping to enjoy blasting one of these trains along the LGV route. However I am struggling to keep the thing moving as the controls are of a non-standard setup compared to the rest of the trains I have. An example is that the horn is controlled by enter rather than the usual space+B keys. I managed to get the train moving with button mashing/pressing random keys at will. But then I get a burring noise from some sort of alarm and then the brakes come on and the train stops. I cannot see why whoever made this train couldn't just use the regular setup like the trest of my trains in TS have. To a point, I feel like I have made a bad decision on this purchase which is a shame as I was looking forward to this route and the TGV trains :(. Any advice on the controls or even changing the configuration to match my other trains would be great, thanks :).

Best Regards.

Well I doubt many will have it yet as it came out like yesterday but I think this is a case of Read The Manual. I did however come across this tutorial thaty might help, it's in French but the guy has been decent enough to put English subs on it,

I would be inclined to attribute the change of the keys to operate the train to some practical thoughts of the author in the first place and to the difference of the keyboard layouts on the other hand. vR also have not exactly standard layouts, as well as RSSLO Advanced models, so I believe this is normal. It's easy to get used to them even if from the first glance they may seem awkward. Bashing the developer for the layout of the keys isn't worth it.

Excuse me. I am not bashing anyone, so please do not accuse me of such. All I am trying to do is get the train moving and to enjoy the content that I have invested in. Nothing more and nothing less :).

Thank you Simon, that is a great help mate. I will watch that video as hopefully this will help me progress with driving these new trains that I have in my virtual library.

Let us know what you think, very interested in this myself.

I am pleased to say that it is a good add-on. Although the controls are non standard but with a bit of practice and with the scenarios being standard. Its a nice route if you are into fast trains like I am and the TGV trains themselves are decently made too. So just give yourself time to adjust to the new control layout and everything should be fine mate :).

Ash.

Lets wait for the DTG TGV route.

Probably wont be as advanced as JT's one

This JT route seems to get mixed reviews. Also some complain about the TGV having bad textures especially the cab and also some say the controls are hyper sensitive (buggy).

That's what I heard in a German forum.

Unless the route will be issued through DTG which is 50/50. I think DTG will be more interested in producing new routes which will likely be other locations and if they do make a TGV route. There is other options such as LGV Nord (Thalys PBA and PBKA, Eurostar and TGV Reseau), LGV-Est (TGV-POS, TGV Reseau and ICE3), LGV Med (TGV Reseau, PSE and Duplex. Also there is the La-Poste train that could be added to any of those.

Also if DTG are producing any non TGV SNCF train stuff. I would like to see some of the older Diesel and Electric trains like the Classes of CC72000, BB67000, CC6500 as well the Sybic BB26000 express locomotives and such like, Personally I would prefer some of that to the other stuff that has recently come out as I have never keen on the North American trains as much as the UK and European stuff :). No disrespect to the North American trains intended as its just my personal preferences.

Anyway, the only routes I would buy are "other" (France, Japan, ...) routes. Maybe one more US passenger route and another German route.

I have more then enough UK stuff and US freight routes.

Again, the reviews about this JT route are mixed, most say it's a mediocre route and loco.
I will wait for DTG's French route.
