JT - Bishop Auckland to Darlington Route Requirements?
Can someone please interpret the requirements for this route besides the JT Class 153 DMU Advanced, thanks.

If you're a TS2013 or since user The European Loco & Asset Pack is the only requirement for the route, The 153 is only required for some of the scenarios. If you're a pre TS2013 user there is no additional requirements. As you're probably aware The European Loco & Asset Pack is included with quite a few DLC's - https://steamdb.info/app/208300/subs/.

The route is nicely build and is a pleasant drive but its quite short and is not a route I drove very much after completing the included scenarios however one thing to consider is it is a non essential requirement in quite a few recent third party routes.

Good but short route. Contains standard scenarios, free roam and quick drive. It is single track route so dont expect any variations in scenarios it is driving from A to B. QD contains only static consist. It take 20+ minutes from Darlington to Bishop Auckland (max allowed speed is 45mph).

If you have W&T route it is interesting find out how this route was changed.

It's one of JTs weakest, if not THE weakest product. Axe, dont waste your money. It takes about 25 mins to do the trip and thats at a low speed, the graphics are cheap and old looking and anyone who owns the Weardale and Teesdale route will be wondering where all the scenery detail and the rest of the track has gone!

The ONLY merit it has is in highlighting the huge difference between the old W&T days and the present day line which is quite interesting to people who like railway history and of course, it is the second site of the Nation Raliway Museum in Shildon but no way on earth is this worth anything like 20 quid. Remember, this is a non Steam product so no future workshop scenarios to keep your interest up so once youve driven your average DMU end to end, thats it.

DTGs W&T gives you at least 10 times the track, rolling stock and playability for a fiver more, if youve not got it, thats the one to get.

I'll vouch for what Simon has stated, the W&T is a fantastic route set in the early BR era so there's plenty of scope for both steam and early desiels. Via your link l took a look at the JT route and it does look boring. If you haven't got the W&T put it on your wish list, I'd put it at the top 2 of DTGs UK routes.

I'll hazard a guess that the reason the OP is asking the question is that the route is on a 60% off subscribers special at the moment. In my opinion it might just be about worth the 8 pounds for the custom assets if nothing else.

Hey thanks for the replies fellas.

It is actually 60% off with a JT discount code but after all your advice I can't really even justify the £7.99 price. Much appreciated :-)

Crossposted with cilldroichid :-D

I have the assets and the W&T route and the 153 too.

If any-one really wants it (and I'd agree with the above, basically an ok route worth having, but not at the regular full price), note, you can find it on ebay as a new box cd for under £4 (inc free P&P). And yes at that price you can't go wrong, and it's certainly worth adding to your collection! :)

A flurry of posts. Thanks Growler.

What custom assets? ( im genuinely curious as I've never seen another route ask for this as a requirement.)

I wasnt aware of the discount, but no, 60% isnt enough. If you got ONE custom train with it maybe but you dont even get that, all you get is a not very good reskin on the already old and bland class 166, they rely on you already haveing the Euro Assets Pack and another payware train for the scenarios. I'd say it's worth a fiver as a curiosity but even then, I can think of better things to spend five quid on. Sorry JT, proof the grass isnt always greener!
