Problems with Frankfurt U-Bahn
Hi!

I have bought the Frankfurt U-bahn add on for TS2016 and it is impossible to play.
When I start the game, I turn on the tarin and it works, but when I came to the first stop I can´t start it up, it does not work.

I have read the instructions but I don see anything.
Maybe is it a error with the installation?

Moreover, in quick drive it directeally does not work, I can´t start it. I cant have the cabine view and see the controls and it doest work...

Could somebody help me please??

I would love to play with frankfurt´s u-bahn...

regards :)

Would recommend you watch a couple of vids, including this one from QWERTYAFRO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=an076wDPnmw

I have it myself and this is definitely a case of RTFM! Make sure you set the power supply properly from the left hand panel and also, ensure the doors are closed properly. You wont be able to move the train until the green indicator next to the door buttons is lit.

Driving the route's train, really is quick an involved process; not like the typical trains you will play in TS. As simon has pointed out, it really is a case definitely needing to read & absorb the manual. Pages 36-37 are the key relevant sections; you may wish to print these two pages out as a handy prompt. Below are the key relevant extracts from the manual that should get you started fine, if you carefully follow them. Good luck & happy driving:

When you are in the cab you need to set up the train:

Use the mouse or E on your keyboard to drag the master key situated on the left front
side to ON. The key faces fore-aft when ON. (Shift + E will turn the master key OFF
when it is turned on.)

Switch on the battery (P key).

Lift the pantograph ( [ key).

Activate the main switch ( ] key).

Turn the reverser to forward (W key).

You also need to set up the IBIS system:

1. Press the button below the ‘Kurs’ label to allow you to enter the route number.

2. Use the keyboard on the right side to enter the route number – in this case ‘07’.

3. Confirm the entry using the ‘OK’ button (or the Ctrl + Enter keys).

4. Press the button below the ‘Linie’ label to allow you to enter the line number.

5. Use the keyboard on the right to enter the line number – in this case ‘97’.

6. Confirm the entry using the ‘OK’ button (or the Ctrl + Enter keys).

7. Press the button below the ‘Ziel’ label to allow you to enter the number code of
the line’s destination station.

8. Enter the line’s destination station code using the keyboard on the right side.
In this case it is ‘724’ ‘Enkheim’.

9. Confirm the entry using the ‘OK’ button (or the Ctrl + Enter keys).

10. If you have entered all the details correctly, a list of stations will display on the
white area on the right side.

11. Highlight in black the next station you are arriving at (in this case ‘Grosse
Nelkenstrasse’) by navigating through the station list using the four blue buttons to
the right side of the white area. You can also use the Shift + 1 to 4 keys on your
keyboard for this.

12. When you have selected the correct station, confirm the entry using the ‘OK’
button (or the Ctrl + Enter keys).
When you leave your current station you will need to select the next station at which
you are stopping by pressing the ‘Forwarding’ button below the ‘>’ label.

Provided there are no red signals, we are now ready to depart.

Move the speed controller forward and accelerate but ensure you keep within the
speed limit.

If you are using the [F4] HUD display power lever, these are the settings:
Between +100% and +37% Accelerate
Between +12% and 0% Neutral (no acceleration or braking)
Between -13% and -75% Brake
At -100% Emergency brake

As you leave the station, press the ‘#’ key to make the Informator play the
announcement for the next station, which in this case is ‘Grosse Nelkenstrasse’.
Stop smoothly at the station (you will see a stopping point in between the lines
marked ‘H’).

Press the right-side blue ‘door open’ button on the dashboard.
When the passengers have arrived/departed, press the central red ‘door close’
button. You will hear an alarm. Press the lower yellow button to cancel it.
Pull away again to drive towards the next station and don’t forget to press the ‘#’ key
to hear the next Informator announcement and to move forward the IBIS display.[/b]
At the next station, ‘Industriehof Gleis 2’, stop at the central track marker ‘H3’.
Continue this same routine until you reach your destination.

P.S. Apologies for the dire formatting, the forum isn't showing all paragraphs, and sentence returns; showing it as one heavy going painful paragraph. Best to look at your manual! ;)

You say that you have this route.

I am keen on adding it to my collection but, as yet, all the routes I have bought have been through TS - I have no third party add-ons.

If I buy this, is it straightforward once I have downloaded it from Just Trains? I am not a whizz at tinkering with files and I wonder if there is a lot of file copying to do, to get it to work.

When bought and downloaded, are these third party routes accessible from within TS 2016? In other words, do you just operate them using 'Drive' from the TS 2016 main menu, just the same as all the other TS routes?

Can you advise me please?

I know what you mean and you need not worry. The install process from proper 3rd party publishers like Just Trains is very easy and uses a proper self install program, no need for manual copying of files etc. Once installed, just like any route whether it be a JT route, a freeware one from UKTS, etc or even a default DTG one, it will appear in game just as you'd expect. The only difference of note is that 3rd party routes generally dont have career scenarios, so will appear in Standard and Quickdrive.

@Growler: brilliant to see that there are people around who take the time to write a nice tutorial. -thumbsup-

And if the trains get too boring, E is also the key to activate the engine in FSX.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I shall probably go ahead and buy the Frankfurt U-Bahn network.

Its quite a challenge but it is something different, I recommend a good study of the manual and watching some videos. QWERTYAFRO has done a few that will help on YouTube.
