JT BR 7MT Advanced - cant stoke fire in simple mode ?

Hi all. Anyone with this loco can help me with stoking the fire in simple mode ? in adv mode it works fine and in simple mode (not using hud) i can press F to open firebox then R to stoke the firebox but the mass never increases only decreases. As a result the engine eventually runs out of coal :(

I have raised a ticket with JT but im hoping someone out there has come across a similar issue and might now if its a simple change inn the xml files ?

I think you need to have auto fireman on in options as I had that with the Clan as its assumed in simple mode you would A-F and just drive.

I have controls in TS setup as expert and auto fireman as off as thats whats recommended for this loco, but thats what my settins were anyway, and I dont have issue with any other lococ. Advanced mode is fine, but in simple mode as soon as you use hud or turn hud off and f to open firebox then r to stoke the fire, you can see in f4 (or is it f5) the fire mass just goes down and the engine runs out of coal. In advanced mode the fire mass increases which is what youd expect which leads me to believe its a bug with the engine in simple mode.

I went thru my Clan manual and you are right, in simple mode, the stoking should be as normal but it doesn't say whether you have to engage ActivFireman or not or just use the DTG firing auto system.

There is a service pack up on JT's website here which says in the box under about fixing the issues in simple driving mode, perhaps that is needed?

If you read you would see sometimes i drive it in advanced, but other times when im just out on a quick joy ride drive i sometimes use simple. I also work with software and test things so try and break things etc. The fact is stoking in simple mode is broken because unlike the 4mt and 5mt which increase fire mass whilst stoking in simple mode, the 7mt does not and thus you pretty much have a useless engine in simple mode. The description says you can use simple mode switching the mode using the switcher. So why cant i use simple mode if i so wish ?

Sigh im not bashing JT i use them a lot and never had a bug or problem with one of their releases, but this thing is broken in simple mode. For all i know it could be an xml file change needed that by modding it myself i can get it working. As for dodgydruid thanks i will check that out. I assumed as i recently purchased and downloaded it should be the latest verison but maybe it isnt.

Was a solution found to this problem? The JT updates haven't fixed it as far as I can see. Thanks
