Japanese Trains / Routes?
Hey there,

I just bought this game yesterday and already had a lot of fun with it. But I originally bought it so that I could enjoy to drive Japanese trains and in Japan.

So my questions is if there are any addons, mods or whatever with a Japanese route? I've already seen that people are saying that there are Japanese commuter trains and possibly Shinkansen routes but I can't seem to find where to get it?

I'd appreciate any help, thanks! :SuperPug:

Hello,

http://store.steampowered.com/app/376961/
is a quite fresh one,

http://store.steampowered.com/app/277742/
is a fantasy railroad inspired by Japanese elements.

That's all I know about. There are a few Chinese routes, the

that can be extended with

and the Maglev but I don't recommend it, so no link. ;-)

Let's be civil -- Electronx identified them as Chinese just in case the OP might be interested so obviously he is aware of the difference.

We have had several rounds of what I would consider as antisocial give and take threads that escalate to where someone gets band - would like to see a community spirit develop where people come for help and advice not debate.

That's a cheap shot, Hobo. He probably felt the OP might be interested in other Asian routes, especialy high-speed while waiting for a Shinkansen.

Oh well, the scenarios you described are probably the case...

DTG will never develop Japanese addons, and in Japan hardly anybody play this game. You can only pin your hope on the UnionWorkshop from China.

The 'Story of Forest Rail' is another Japonese route in Train Simulator. It's an old route, even closed nowadays if I understood well. Includedare 2 versions of a Japonese Railbus or DMU (Diesel) One older and a newer (means 1980) version. It's not very long and single track, but that's because it's a (in the latest days) a more touristical track.

@electronx Thanks a lot I'll check these out.

Oh well this is seriously stupid then, Japan has a massive train fandom, people who are literally obsessed with trains. It's hard to believe that there isn't a market for that.

Hyung, have you tried the Workshop ? try using the search to help narrow things down or use the route - scenario, engines selection to help select what you want. It is a finicky search, but does work.Have fun, don't crash to often.

License is a violation of the product.
Complaints should say to T9Express.
"The Story of Forest Rail Route" is not in Japan, we can also apply as Taiwan.

The T9 Express production (effectively 300EMU beta loco on Shinkansen) was actually very good freeware when it worked, up until & including TS2014. Then something that DTG did in the TS2014 to TS2015 basically killed the HST loco, the graphics of the train would no longer work. And sadly as far as I know the creators of the loco/route have not updated their creations for the more recent core versions of the TS programme. However, if you have the facility to run an old version of TS2014 (perhaps offline!) then paweuek's recomendation is a very good one. Below is a picture of when the T9 Express 300EMU model worked on their Shinkansen route:

All the best.
