Dont be too sure, i've heard Matt P talk about using it on his channel and he said it was great fun. Certainly Track-IR works well and Oculus Rift is really just one of those with a headset mounted monitor.

It's something we are looking into but not actively supporting yet.

There may be some third party programs out there for this though, I'm not entirely sure.

any progress on this front? it seems like a no-brainer great way to improve the game substantially

3rd party programs are junk

Use TRACK IR IV or Eye Tracking (TobII) ;)
Leviateinn Feb 6, 2017 @ 7:05pm
those are both irrelevant tech lol

No matter. I have all three LOL
VR is still unfinished. In 5 years it's better ;) :lampoff:

I have an HTC Vive which is great, but also useTrackIR not only for Traain Simulator but also for FSX - don't get me wrong -VR is great and a unique experience, but with the lower graphic resolution, it is nice o fly without itt a times and TrackIR makes it an enjoyable flight over extremely great andscapes.

There is also a VR train simulator demo called Derail Valley. It is well done and shows great promise, but different xperience from the current tS201x experience

So I wouldn't sayTrackIR is irrelevant... just different solution.

There is something in the options called "toggle oculus mode" but it is a dead function - just tested it without success

I saw TS being demonstrated with Oculus Rift by Dovetail a couple of years ago but the effort to support VR seems to have been abortive. Perhaps the extra overhead was too much for an old game engine that is already being pushed to its limits.

There's some information available for the Googling- off the top of my head I think TS worked with early developer kits for Oculus Rift so if you can back date your drivers you may get somewhere but I won't pretend this is anything other than a vague idea.

Well, if they do, for TS and TSW.
I may not beable, to play if or other games.
As I am mostly blind in one eye. (hope they keep one, or both, for those that are like me.)

Hi Jay, No, there are no programs wich make TS2017 works in VR, incl vopX (vorpX also does not support TS2017). Can you please add VR support for the Oculus Rift, and the HTC Vive?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE???? :-)
