There may be some third party programs out there for this though, I'm not entirely sure.

3rd party programs are junk
VR is still unfinished. In 5 years it's better ;)
There is also a VR train simulator demo called Derail Valley. It is well done and shows great promise, but different xperience from the current tS201x experience
So I wouldn't sayTrackIR is irrelevant... just different solution.
There's some information available for the Googling- off the top of my head I think TS worked with early developer kits for Oculus Rift so if you can back date your drivers you may get somewhere but I won't pretend this is anything other than a vague idea.
I may not beable, to play if or other games.
As I am mostly blind in one eye. (hope they keep one, or both, for those that are like me.)
