No path to destination found?
I tried creating a scenario, but I couldn't because it said that there was 'no path to destination found, even though I 100% know that there is. It also said the problem could be no electrified lines, but there are for the whole route? Any ideas what could be going on here?

Can you detail the following:
  • Route
  • Locomotive
  • Start Point
  • Final Destination
  • All other instructions given to the train

The route is Western Mainlines by Just Trains
Train is a 5 car Class 360 EMU from the GEML package
Start point is on the ramp where the Heathrow Express diverges from the Great Western Mainline (it is then electrified all the way into Paddington)
Final destination is Paddington station
Why should that route be a problem?

Try changing the class of your train. I had a similar problem recently trying to create a steam era parcels scenario with an "Express Freight" class. Changed the player train to "Special" and it worked a treat.

I can't change the class of the train becuase this is the entire point of the scenario. The entire route has electrification so I don't see why that would be a problem. There are scenarios on the Steam Workshop that have the same class of train on this route and they seem to get it to work fine.

have you got the most up to date service pack for the route. there was an issue with some track missing some electrification,
Dean Geddes Sep 15, 2016 @ 9:56am
Where do you think I could get the most up to date service pack? I only purchased the route about 2 weeks ago? Surely there can't have been any updates since then?

Does your final destination involve any manual points (switches) to reach it

Hi guys. Just to let you know I managed to find the cause of the problem and it is now fixed. What I did was change the service type to 'Stopping Passenger' from 'Special'. This seemed to be weirdly what was causing the routing problem. Thanks for your sugestions anyway.

I wonder if along some of the track between Heathrow and Paddington, the line type property has been set/left as 'Freight'. Setting the train priority level as Stopping Passenger will not allow it to traverse track marked as 'Freight'. Setting the train priority level as Special disregards such track properties.

Try setting the train priority level to one of the freight types and see if it still works ok.

Ah would this explain some of the odd routes the dispatcher always seems to want to use unless I force a via or waypoint

Yea, OK, so what about it? That is really quite a pointless set of words.
