Just train Voyager Advanced packs
Thinking of gettting the Just trains Voyager advanced loco.

I have 4 options:-
1. Buy the 220 voyager on steam $19.99 and get the JT Voyager Upgrade S11.99 that way I get the 3 scenarios for Riviera that comes with the base 220.
2. Buy the Voyager Advanced alone from Just trains $29.99.
3. Buy the voyager advanced park with York Newcastle Modern and scenario pack for $45.
4. Buy the voyager advanced park with Exeter Bristrol and scenario pack for $45.

Thanks for any advice given.

Note, the Steam Voyager (by DTG) & the JT Voyager are completely unrelated. Two separate models by different developers. The JT Voyager upgrade is not compatible with the Steam Voyager. In many people's opinion the stand-a-lone version by DTG is poor [dire unrealistic driving physics].

JT fairly frequently offer their Voyager at signficant discount in sales (just subscribe to their e-newsletter to be alerted to any such offers). It would be a shame to pay full price when in a month or two you could likely pick it up for half price.

Both the JT routes you mention (that include the Voyager Advanced) were okay at the time of release. However, that was quite a while ago - they now seem rather dated compared to recent offerings. The quality of routes these days generally being far higher standard than 5 years ago.

If you haven't already got the full version of TS2018, the North Wales Coastal route includes a Voyager. This is an improvement on the earlier standalone DLC version by DTG. Better physics but still missing some of the advanced features offered by the JT model.

Hope that helps. :)

just to add what growler said the JT's Voyager upgrade was for anyone the bought the orignal JT Voyager. So if you do get JT Voyager just buy the standalone version and forget about the upgrade has that is included with the standalone version

Like we all say, never Buy a Just Trains version off of Steam, because of the way DTG and STEAM work(Re-aquiring Files and DRM Data Factions) So if your gonna buy Routes,But option 1 is your best bet...the JT Voyager Upgrade you need the original from Just Trains to make the upgrade work otherwise it is a round £21.99 for the new version ok...

OK, I'm not sure why this was brought back up by MiniCydonianKnight a few days ago, but let me clear up those options as they stand today:

1. The CrossCountry Class 220 is no longer available on Steam. The JT one is unrelated. You can still buy the Voyager Advanced and use it. In fact, it's RECOMMENDED you get that and substitute it into scenarios wherever the XC 220 is used because it's regarded as just being a better model in the community. Ts-Tools is your friend.
2. Recommended step as per my commentary for the first item.
3. York to Newcastle Modern is no longer available. I actually sent a message to someone asking why the scenario packs were still available given the route wasn't and people might easily confuse them with the York Modern route on Steam. Seems they agreed with me as the original scenario pack postings and bundle options have since disappeared. The scenarios could be remade for DPSimulation's remake of that part of the railway word. Not sure if it's even valid as payware in that circumstance or not, depends on the DPSimulation agreement with JT and his own terms of use on his freeware routes.
4. If there is a bundle still available, this is an option. But I always try to get items on sale if possible. I got the Voyager for $19,99 USD. Probably a better deal than this option given you can get Bristol to Exeter on Steam for a low enough price that you're overpaying for this bundle for the extra scenario pack. Also, to quote Tom when I asked at a stream in late 2020, "Why would you still get that route?" Sadly, the answer is that the assets from that route are still used in other freeware routes, including the very nice BHBP network; therefore, since the assets were not apparently carried over to SW Expressways and Western Mainlines, you still have to get that route. Kind of stinks, but at least the random scenarios for the route in my other packs now have a chance to be used as well as the freeware scenario packs and others on UKTS.
