The virgin trains first generation pack

Hi, i was downloading the LSL 47 pack from backdated train sim and it required the virgin trains first generation pack, it has been discontinued now on steam and hundle bundle, so, can you still get it on another site?

Not as far as I'm aware. However, the Class 47 was later re-released as part of the Welsh Marches route.

Ok, is it WCR livery, do you just copy and paste the GeoPcDx. file and it should work for the LSL 47's from backdated train sim too.

I haven't tested it yet, but that's on my list for later today. The 47 is in a fictional livery that is clearly meant to be WCRC.

So you can install the branding patch of Alan Thomson Sim and it will look more like WCRC

I've heard rumours that the Welsh Marches Class 47 might be the same or similar model. Try using that GEO file and see if it does the job? I offer no guarantee on this, and you might have to try copying the file structure to the original location used by the First Generation Pack, but do not try using the Virgin since it's clearly not going to be there. There are other Virgin repaints, anyway.

I have suggested to people at BackdatedTrainSim to make new versions of skins based on the Welsh Marches model. I was told there are two key differences:

"Firstly, the Welsh Marches class 47 has the autonumbers in a different position, directly below the cab side window, which creates problems for all my reskins that previously relied on the numbers being down at the base of the body.

"The second, along similar lines, is that the Welsh Marches 47 doesn't have the autonumber-linked nameplate decals. A lot of my reskins relied on these being in place, and if they're not there then my alternative is to remake them all as individual decal child objects or as a single item that I need to somehow switch over via the autonumber code."

He then goes on to state he hasn't had time, and hasn't seen demand.

What I can do is I can link him to this thread. That said, if other versions exist, you can also use those. For instance, I just found several Class 379s at UKTS today and three of the four are the exact same train, but one is the same SuperALBs one. I got all three in case any of them are used as AI, but I'll probably just drive the SuperALBs one since it has the destination nameplates for the route it drives on. A nice touch. But this shows you there are multiple ways to skin a cat. If another version exists on something available, just use that. Hopefully BTS will be able to make new versions of skins that are not known to be around elsewhere. He did a lot with the Virgin pack, after all, so that's a good chunk of the collection rendered obsolete for many.

Another possibility, if anyone knows how to fix these two issues and make it work and look right, is possibly supplying him the fix for the Welsh Marches model and he can post that. It's his skin, after all, so best to have him post it if you can fix it.
