superalbs Reskins issue with missing default folder with missing .GeoPcDx files!
I had downloaded the GWR modern day reskins form superalbs website and have found great difficulty in installing a few of them into the appropriate folders the instructions tell you to head to. One is the class 158 purchased direct from the marketplace through Steam and another class 158 DMU separately. These trains are legit and paid for, but trying to reskin them into GWR livery, it is a nightmare. I had followed through the instructions and placed the main rwp.file into the package manager via the railworks utilities section. The problem is hereafter, I locate the folder of ‘RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01 so that I can select the dmsl.GeoPcDx file to copy and paste into the reskinned train folder: ‘RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class158\GWR\DMSL. What is strange is that the default folder with the .GeoPcDx inside it, is nowhere to be seen in: ‘RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01 folder, this is where the default folder is supposed to be, with the .GeoPcDx. I had cleared the cache and validated all the files with the steam cloud, uninstalled and reinstalled the DLC class 158 that was purchased quite a while back. All has failed to work. I am baffled that the train is seen as installed in the DLC list in Steam and shows in the simulator, but appears to be invisible when I try to select it, causing the issue of the simulator coming back with an error if in Quick Drive or if I try to select the train in the world editor in free mode. I have found the same issues with the class 143 and JT Class 153 and possibly the inter city 125 (that seems to be invisible, despite .GeoPcDx is installed for that train.) I did, like I have mentioned uninstalled and reinstalled a few times by re downloading these trains as well as validating all my files to see if anything worked, for which unfortunately, nothing has done so. Does anyone have any idea what could be done to rectify this strange problem, or has anyone else been through this issue? Many thanks.

Did you notice that this ‘RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01 was in fact an .ap file? This needs to be extracted using something like 7-zip before you can access the DMSL GeoPcDx file.
Do you have 7-zip? Do you know how to use it?
.ap files are files like .zip files but have zero compression meaning the the extracted file is the same size as the compressed size. So if the .ap file is say 138 MB (as it is in this case) it will extract to 138 MB total.
Verifying the game files will NOT fix this type of issue.

Thanks Phase3. I had no idea that the ‘RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01 was the .ap file. That is one thing I did ignore, as I thought that the main folder was already extracted. I do have 7-zip and extracted the reskin at the time. Thanks for your instruction.

Just an update, the instruction hasn't worked at all. I tried to extract ‘RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01 and doesn't appear to have any GeoPcDx files. I did extract using 7-zip to no avail. All was inside was the GWR folder and Passenger view folder. No default folder. It was basically one folder opening as if it has been already extracted. Sorry, but this has failed to work. Any more ideas? Thanks in advance.

With 7-zip after extracting (use extract here) on the .ap file then navigate to:
/STEAM/steamapps/common/RailWorks/Assets/DTG/Class158Pack01/Class158Pack01Assets.ap/RailVehicles/Diesel/Class158/Default/DMSL/ the GeoPcDx file is there.

It doesn't seem to show the assets.ap only this: Preload and RailVehicles folders.

Sorry my bad in the extracted Rail vehicles folder you should see \STEAM\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class158Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class158\Default\DMSL and the GeoPcDx file should be there.

This is why I use the installer from ATS, no more headaches

Thanks for your replies Phase3, at least you tried to help. Unfortunately, nothing has been gained, by all means you did the best you could. I'm afraid I have now given up. *Mike, thanks for letting me know about the ATS installer, it seems Alan Thompson wants us to subscribe to his website to receive that installer, for which I have no plans to do. Again, thanks for your help, I'm sorry it never got to achieving the goal it was meant to achieve.
