It will NOT be a straight jump in a drive.
Hope this helps.
In some of the choice of "Driver Assist" modes it is necessary to release the Reverser Lock by holding key E down whilst operating it with A/D, but not if you select mode 5.
All of this is in the manual: https://store.steampowered.com/manual/1364032
Caution should be used when buying anything described as "PRO range" as this means the item is non-compliant with Dovetail's normal operational standards.
If you find you have purchased something that turns out to be unsuitable for your needs, it is possible to obtain a refund but you have to act quickly to qualify for that:

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I found out quickly that I had to use the F5 view rather than the F4 HUD; I could/can live with that. And I can drive any of the Dovetail steam locos so I know my way around a non-advanced steam loco.
But the Clan Line has 30 various switches, levers, wheels, valves, etc., and their relationship to each other is not explained anywhere in the manual. The manual does do a good job of showing all of the various keybindings and what they do, but there's no guidance whatsoever as to how they interact with each other or what is good practice.
Compare to an AP locomotive or enhancement pack; there you'll find not only a list of the keybindings and what they do but how to start up the loco in step-by-step format. Even better are the manuals by Victory Works which go into great detail as to what each function is and what proper levels are. For example, views of the firebox are described (and illustrated) with levels of coal *at various rivet levels*. This is done, and is stated so in the manuals, so that you can visualize when stoking needs to be done without recourse to any HUD ...
I really have no complaint about the Bossman model; it's exquisite. I just want to be able to drive the doggone thing and feel that leaving out this information is disingenuous.
