Which alarm? If it is AWS - usually acknowledgment key is ‘Q” <CTRL><D> usually disables the AWS system totally — but then again that will all be in the manual.

You can't disable AWS. Some trains allow you to disable the driver vigilance device with Ctrl-D, but I'm not sure the Class 444 is one of them.

I have just tried out both the Class 444 and 450 on this route and I have no alarm problem. The AWS does come on when you first move the reverser but you can stop that by pressing the Q key. Perhaps you are getting confused with when the doors are closing when and alarm comes on on both the 444 and 450 but this stops after a few seconds and then you hear the guards beep beep that it is ok to start moving.

The DSD (Driver Safety Device) can be isolated on both the 444 and 450 by pressing "Ctrl+D".

This will stop the emergency brakes from coming on if you miss the bleep it makes, but it does NOT stop the bleep coming on.
If you press the floor pedal in front of the drivers seat the first time it comes on this should stop it activating again.

If you leave the DSD active then it is "E" to accept/cancel, not F as in the manual.

Hope this helps.

The emergency brake is not coming on if he starts normally. I have this route and tried 2 scenarios using both the Class 444 and 450 and I had no emergency brake come on as I have already explained. Don't you read previous posts before commenting. I think as already mentioned in my post above your that the OP is getting confused with the alarm that comes on when the doors are closing. I bet you he is starting off before the doors have shut which causes the emergency brakes to come on. He need to wait for the beep beep signal from the guard before he moves.

Here is a short video that I made of driving the Class 450 on this route. Note the AWS going off when you first move the reverser. Press the Q key to stop it. This is normal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOcATVyolMI&feature=youtu.be

By trial and error I have discovered that ALT E stops the alarm but it still comes on at regular intervals. I am now trying to deactivate it as the normal AWS alarm is working as normal.

The vigilance alert is supposed to trigger if you haven’t adjusted the controls for a while, to ensure you’re still alive (literally – look up the Violet Town rail disaster).

Press CTRL+D and a message appears at the top right of the screen saying "Driver Vigilance Device is now disabled" and that will solve your problem.

ALT+E doesn't do anything, you are just pressing E which stops the alarm beeping, but doesn't turn the system off.

You will have to press CTRL+D each time you load in with the Class 444/450 as the alarm is always enabled by default.

I run it by default and have no alarm going off as per my video above.
