Easy mode?
I'd like to see a easy mode in this game. Just like trainz easy mode on mobile.

There is a simple controls setting.

I don't think the simple controls are actually any simpler to use. In fact I'd argue that they make things more difficult because of their restrictions.

Unfortunately, you can't get more simpler than that. Question, why even purchase a "train simulator" game if you do not want to simulate driving trains. Might as well have purchased the Play Station version for TSW.

Just choose an easy train to drive. A newer EMU or DMU with a single combine power/brake control in Quick Drive is pretty easy. I’ve never used the “simple” controls myself. Trying to make the game any easier would be at odds with the simulation aspect.

A lot of people, maybe more so for younger persons, do not understand the meaning of the word 'Simulator'. I also suspect that some (younger?) persons see the word 'simulator' and then get expectations of it being some kind of arcade 'game'.

Young people don’t remember what arcades were like – arcades declined in the 2000s. Do you remember what arcade games were like? They were absolutely punishing. Remember the intention was to separate you from your money. Bullet hell shooters require you to memorise patterns and move with absolute precision. Capcom fighting games blatantly read player inputs in boss AI. SNK fighting games’ bosses have moves that even God is scared of. Also, there were train simulation arcade games in Japan – see Taito’s Densha de Go! franchise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Densha_de_Go%21

Train simulator is, for the most part, less punishing than an actual arcade game.

Do I remember arcade games? I remember button A to jump and button B to fire etc....
I also remember sitting in a public house playing 'Pong' on a beer soaked table in the early 70's !

the most simple is to play freeroam scenario where you can jump on the train, and ride on it without touching controls

Hello this is an old post but I’m hoping someone will reply. I’m looking for literally modes where you can just watch 1st and 3rd person. And for Japanese train lines. Any recommendations?

You are way better off using expert controls, especially when it comes to driving certain career scenarios

If you have OpenRails, using expert controls is pretty much the same for TSC/TSW
