Kuju DB 101 and LZB/PZB
So just wondering if the Kuju DB 101 has LZB/PZB or not... I got Berlin - Leipzig route on sale today and was just wondering about the DB 101. If not I now have a reason to buy the pro version and i'll swap the Kuju version out in RW_Tools.

Kuju DB BR101 has only the rudimentary "Indusi", nothing more.
If you own some never german route with newer incarnation DB BR101, start your experiments with that version, preferably

The problem with Pro version is simple - it is so advanced, that it actually can break the scenarios ... but it is woth a try, just keep this in mind that it might not work correctly with certain scenarios.

It is the same reason why almost no one replaces the generic DB BR143 with its more advanced counterpart on regular basis.
I replaced all my Kuju DB 101 with the brillant BR 101 Expert Line from Virtual Railroads. So don't bother with Kuju stock, it's all crap. There also exists some nice repaints for the BR 101 EL.

For swapping engines with RW-Tools it is more likely to do it with the TS editor (it's really easy to do). RW-Tools don't change the jpg in the selection screen ingame. You still then see the Kuju engine. :train3:
well ok then.... lol just got the pro line DB 101 so i'll be having fun swapping out the old Kuju one today.

thanks for the info you two!
I stand corrected... to a point.
Pro version apparently does not require a cold start. This means it can really be used as replacement for default 101 (cold start can really wreak havoc with scenario timings).

This being said, I recommend replacing the player loco only... and leaving other 101s as they are.

You do right, Felix.AVPM. That's what I meant, only the drivers engine should be swapped. All other stuff in one scenario should stay as it is. I haven't cleared it out. But surely there are many other scenarios with Kuju stock which should be swapped.
How on earth do you make the pro version from Vr show up in rw_tools under available stock?
How do you know whether the loco has Pzb for your scenario?

The original one doesn't, and the newer versions (e.g. Köln-Koblenz) have Pzb, Lzb, Azb, Afb on their icon in the game. I believe their name is also different for Quick Drive but I'd have to check for the exact names.

If you bought it from Steam unpack the .ap file. Then check the folder it must NOT be set to 'read only'.
Thanks. I’ll try right away :-)
That did the trick. Thanks :-)
