Do you have any preferences, passenger/freight, modern era etc?

Weardale and Teesdale Network in the '60s has scope for almost every type of operation other than high speed main line running (though the line from Darlo' to Durham often saw diverted main line trains). It ably evokes the area I live in during any time from Nationalization to the start of Corporate Blue when the lines started to close.

WCML(North) is old but good with freight, commuter and high speed passenger services- but not for anyone who cares about Career points the included scenarios all being flawed. As a bonus it includes both the European/UK and the US Loco's and Assets packs much used by scenario makers and route builders- if you haven't already got them it's almost worth getting just for that reason.

I would say London- Faversham High speed route and WCML trent valley.

London - Brighton is good, my favourites are Great Eastern Mail Line and Wherry Lines. GEML does need additional DLC to make it realistic (Classes 90,315,321)

I quite like London-Peterborough for modern UK passenger services.

Paignton-Exeter is nice too, but perhaps less modern.

Nice - Thank you

I tend to run the ECML a lot. Specifically, Kings Cross to Petersborough. I also generally play the Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton.

Yeah, I already have ECML, I like to play the MML since I have the JT 222 and AP VP185 Class 43

WCML over Shap to add to WCML North which is a golden Oldie, over Shap has a great Class 87 Loco.
WCML North is the basis for more loco addons though.

I can second Weardale and Teesdale for the 1950's to 1960's great place awe-inspiringly huge and detailed great for running Kettles (steam locos) as well.
Good selection of Diesel rolling stock, and the route is the basis for quite a few Steam loco addons like the K1 and a few diesel addons.

Woodhead (the older one) 1950's BR Eastern Region/Midland Region interchange steam and DC Overhead electrics
It's a great route, good selection of rolling stock that also serves as a basis for the SSS Expansion packs, great and varied route.
(I haven't driven the newer BR Blue Woodhead enough to cast a vote, but the rolling stock is great. However it is one of the routes that pushed the old 32-bit Train Simulator to it's breaking point, should only be run in 64-bit.)

Western Lines of Scotland
1950's BR Steam, upgraded Default Black 5 (certainly not as good as the BMG Black 5), but decent.
Route is very varied in it's operating styles, changing from industrial and to rural line even with branches and a station next to the ferry landing bridge for boat trains.
Older but one of the all time greats. Also used as the basis for a few loco addons.

Netherfield, great selection of Rolling Stock some of it standard like the Black 5, some of it used to be extra DLC like the 4F, 8F (different from the Woodhead one, re-release of the old 8F DLC), Tompson B1 and Robinson O4.
A lot of Bang for the Buck.

Operationally it is the 1950's steam around Nottingham, a Network route focused on industrial and freight services, with local stoppers. Not so great for running expresses.

Riveria Line in the 1950's Great selection of Rolling stock and Locos, featuring coaches made by Matrixtrains and vastly improved King, Castle, Hall, Grange and 57XX Pannier Class locos with assorted wagons as well.
A lot of bang for the buck.

Oh and the route is quite scenic and interesting to drive.

Same goes for the Riveria line aka the one in modern days, although it's a bit shorter on Rolling stock only having the Class 143, but it's used as basis for a few rolling stock addons.

The GEML has a similar problem, with only the Class 360 being availlable (and AP having pulled the Desiro Soundpack), but it's the basis for a few rolling stock addons, some of them great like the Class 90, both the steam and the AP packs are worth it, every cent.
Also the GEML is used in a few Freeware routes like the DPS Modern day Version of the East Coast Mainline (Newcastle-York). It also has freeware extensions and the

Since you have JT stuff, the old SECML (Scottish East Coast Mainline) is another recommendation, quite old but still very scenic.

If you want the Class 170 buy it with Edinburgh-Glasgow, the route is old and rather limited but gameplay-wise not bad, it offers some chances for varied gameplay.
Also there is the DPS Scenery enhancement that extends the scenery and the route.
The rolling stock is also not limited to just the Class 170, but it also comes witht he Class 37, an HST and afaik the European Loco and Asset Pack.

West Highland Line Extension, modern day operations, comes with a Class 37/4 with fully functioning RETB (Radio Electronic Token Block) System, also features animated snowdrift plowing.

Last but not least Wherry Lines, one of the best ever released routes, shorter than others but with a staggering level of detail.

Some of my favourites like Southampton Weymouth (1950's BR Southern Region/Southern Railway Steam era), steaming over Beattock, Steaming over Shap, North Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire, Crabenmore Branch, GNOSR and Pyne & Warborough are freeware though.
Honestly most of the addons were bought for the freeware routes in my case, and those routes ammount more than half my routes.

I think this should give you food for thought for a while, if you want advice on rolling stock just tell me! ;)
