Time acceleration
Hello guys, I've just installed this game and I have one question. Is it possible to accelerate time in this game ? Somehow ? The waiting is pretty anoying sometimes. Thanks a lot.

Maybe with careful use of a time machine, but other than that no it is not. Are you trying to do the London to Brighton in 4 minutes run then?

Not a good news :D I think it was possible in old version for more arcade style game :D 1:1 time ratio is too hardcore for me :D

Nope not possible....so you must play through long dark winter nights on your winter freeroam senarios.

I agree, and would also like a time/location skip.
For various reasons:
1. Scenario editors who think waiting in a station for five real world minutes is immersive. Okay, it's realistic, but some of us would rather get on with things.
2. HUGE U.S. freight routes. Yeah, I like shunting/switching, medium passenger runs, and long freights with interesting scenery. Problem: Many routes have endless flat boring scenery (Cajon Pass, Sherman Hill, etc) and I'd rather be able to jump to the interesting bits.
An even worse example is the 3rd party Durango and Silverton. Love the route but it's SIX HOURS in real time to run the whole thing and there's NO intermediate stops anywhere on the route. It's six hours or just hang around the endpoints.
3. Routes with quick drives that don't start/stop at all stations. I've noticed routes that only offer up certain configurations of Quick Drives, no where near giving you the option to pick ANY station to station (or yard to yard) routes. Being able to place your consist in any location IN GAME (without scenario editing, etc.) would be fantastic and is in many sims.
So of course this is all stuff for TSW probably, not TS20XX, but that would be fine.

How do people enjoy that ? :D It takes ages :D

Funnily enough, it's called a 'Simulator'. > Acting out or mimicking an actual or probable real life condition, event, or situation

Read more: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/simulation.html

i.e. it is an attempt to simulate or 'copy' real actual life. There are not many 'time accelerators' for 'bored' drivers in real life that I know of....

Now if it was called Train Arcade Game 2017, that would be a different matter..........

Having a speed up time option would be more like real lifre, not less: (in freeroam) driver parks up loco at the end of the day after shift......speed up time through the night, driver returns in the morning to start next day's shift......just like real life.

Well I know what simulator means. No need to treat me like an idiot.

Yes I agree it was unnecessarily rude, to what was a sensible question, but hey ho, internet forums rarely bring out the best in people.

I can imagine this scenario. Driver parks train, leaves depot, on way home stops a pub for a few. Staggers off down road, falls into hedge, 2 hours later wakes up in hedge. Finally gets home, nagged by wife. Falls asleep on sofa. Wakes up 2 hours after his morning shift started. Phones in a sickie, falls asleep.

All at x24. Maybe they'll include it in TSW.

So at the end of the day, you press save, turn off PC, go to bed, sleep, Start again next day, Re-start PC / TS, Just like real life !

No not like real life because it's still the same time in the game that you turned off at when you start again. So if you finished at the end of the day in the game - still the end of the day when you start again - a speed up time option is needed so you can fast forward to the morning.
Phase3 Dec 12, 2016 @ 12:27pm
Yes you can advance time quickly using a command line option "EnableAsyncKeys" then pressing CTRL key plus 1 to 5 you advance the sim at up to 5x normal speed. There is NO "-" in front of this command, and NO "". If it doesn't work via steam you may have to create a desktop shortcut to railworks using this in the command line.

heres what you can do if your using QD
you park the train up turn your pc off and when you want to start playing again going in to QD drive, change the time from night to morning and start in the same location you finished in your last session
Simples :)

skitz59, wouldn't work in freeroam - quickdrive is ok.....but freeroam is the thing for me.

Phase3....command line option? How do you get to this from within senario?...thanks in anticipation.
