Bullied Q1 Problems.
Anyone else bought this and found that none of the scenarios can be completed, they run, but the physics are all over the place. Or, is it me? To think this costs just shy of £12.00 when not in the sales. DTG should hang there heads in shame. It's a 2014 product. Yet it got more holes in than a piece of Swiss cheese. Disgusting grab your cash and run attitude.

Actually Q1 was developed by Victory Works not DTG. And I personally find it quite realistic and fun to drive. I've managed to complete almost all of the included scenarios. What problems exactly do you encounter?

That's interesting. First scenario times are way out. Same for the second. The third I've just done. The fourth crashes everytime I try to re-hook the coal train back up at Wincanton to shunt into the sidings and it derails itself. Consist tilt or phantom signals? Proper bug! I've googled the Q1 and Mat has played several scenario's with same results. I can add them from Youtube if people would like.

Sorry I'm not at home till next week to check my records on this but I'm pretty sure I've done it. I admit it was not easy and I had to try few times.

I'm not convinced. Ugly duckling has just stalled on a straight between in Wincanton and Cole! There's no power. Though you start off with power? Now it's trying to get up Evercreech dragging 12 lots of wood and guards van, yet it's not a double header? Either I'm doing something wrong or the physics are screwed up.

Danger from above. Saved the game - as soon it loads back up. I get told I've run a red signal, yet I'm not near any signals. The physics are knackered. STAY AWAY. Save your money.

Get a refund while you can, then.

That is funny - Bought the Q1 when it came out and though the scenarios were challenging - they were doable once I learned on how to drive the Q1. Like Paweuek ,I will go back and check .. only one I reember being bad on timings was the one you got straffed on.

Just checked and had gold stars on all but the Ugly Duckling - I haven't tried that one apparently and a green Check on "Danger from Above" - the one where you get straffed. I found the timings too tight and lost a lot of point for ride comfort. Other than those two, like I stated - gold stars.

I also found the engine fun to drive, - a hand full but still fun to drive.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pWgdTO7IYo Vid of Matt having the same problem as me. He even says at 7:08 the brakes are rubbish. So, if the guy who works for DTG struggles what change are we meant to have. He ends up late like I did, so can Leadcatcher tell us what WE'RE both doing wrong? *Edit there a person on the YouTube feed who says they've tried three times and failed.*

Only thing I can tell you is what I have done. As stated on Danger from Above, the timings are too tight and hence why I got a green check, I have not run the Ugly Duckling scenario so can’t comment on whether or not the timings are rubbish, but for all the other scenarios I have Gold stars...

Can’t say what you and Matt P did wrong, but Matt P isn’t known for being very good on scenarios when he is streaming, always speeding etc as he chats with and communicates with his audience so his attention is divided between hosting and driving.

It has been a long time since I ran those scenarios and I do remember there being a learning curve to the idiosyncrasies of the engine. And I had to run through the scenarios a few times to obtain the final scores which resulted in the gold stars and few were perfect scores. Like I stated, they were challenging, but I found them rewarding to get the scores I did.

And I am not saying the simulation of the Q1 is perfect, but I found the entertainment and challenge it provided to be worth what I paid for it.

HaveJust tried this one danger from above got to midford ok but the loco absolutely refues to back into midford siding no mater what i tried best i got was ,o2 miles per hour and struggled to get that
andy250 Dec 30, 2018 @ 6:26am
Hey Roberlo. I might have stumbled onto answer for that. I stopped way to close to Midford 3, like you I got no reverse speed due to weight. Come into Midford as fast as you dare and attempt to stop at the station throw it into reverse while it's still moving forward. (Not the best I know - but needs must!) Then reverse flat out for Midford 3. You should carry enough speed to back up the siding.

You may have to use the wagon breaks to stop as well the consist is too heavy for the loco on it's own.

@leadcatcher. I get where you are coming from on the entertainment value. I could and will use it on quick drive in places like Woodhead. The actual train is fun, brakes are dodgy, but it was WW2 built and times were not good. So, maybe the brakes were an issue. It's DTG's lack or ironing out bugs that gripes me (and most other users.) I purchased it 75% off so, DTG's loss, not mine.

I started getting some very strange stuff. Sound stopped, files wouldn't save. Keyboard functions stopped working. File removed - everything fine. Just played other scenario's. Self explanatory. How LC completed these with corrupted files is beyond me. Will raise the matter with Steam. It's obvious it's knackered.
