Portsmouth Direct Line route add-on - Class 444 issues
Hi all, I purchased Portsmouth Direct Line: London Waterloo - Portsmouth route add-on, everything is great and working fine.

Only one issue is the Class 444 train keeps automatically braking until stopped without visual AWS warning or anything, I keep pressing 'Q' and 'E' but the train keeps braking... I read the manual but no information about alarm. I hope it is me, what am I missing? Thanks, Jon, Australia.

Hi Jonnie, I think it could be the Driver's Vigilance Device you are Referring to if so E on your keyboard when it goe's off or you can Enable / Disable by CTRL + D i hope this helps, best Ron.

It's the DSD that's activating (Drivers Safety Device). To cancel either press the "Pedal" on the floor by the drivers seat or press "e" on its own.

To disarm altogether press "Ctrl+D.

See manual Page 7.

Hope this helps.

(Edit. Ron bet me to it)

What manual? My Class 444 manual in the manuals folder makes no mention of the DVD at all. I suspect it's the manual to an older version of the 444. How to get the new manual?

I'm wondering if the DVD is working properly for the 444 and 450. Here is something I found regarding the Class 57 and something I've observed on other routes.

"The DRIVER'S VIGILANCE DEVICE ensures that the driver is conscious, is fully aware and
able to respond quickly to alerts. After a period of approximately one minute, a buzzer will
sound if the following controls are not moved: POWER CONTROLLER, AWS RESET,
HORN, AUTO BRAKES or DSD PEDAL. If the controls are moved, the timer will be reset
and the buzzer will not sound for an additional minute."

The DVD on the 444 and 450 locos on this specific TS route does NOT reset if you move the controls or "press" the DVD pedal with the "E" key. It will sound again one-minute after the previous alert , whether you move the controls or not.
