come railworks what is it with this bloody consist tilt especially when dynamic braking this simple bit of crap has rendered the greatest safety factor ever provided to a locomotive driver . I have been an experienced driver for thirty years with hundreds of hours of dynamic braking and have never heard of the crap that has been built into this train simulator and as far as i know has never happened except in some bloody programers brain yhank for destroyig the greatet braking system provided for train driving crap crap crap

Why do you keep swearing,,,,,chill

Well, if you told us what train, route and scenarios you are doing rather than throwing a hissy fit we may be able to help you more. Have you considered, heaven forbid, that it may be your own errors that cause these issues? Sitting with a mouse, keyboard and screen is far from what you have experienced as a real driver, so sorry to say this, but it may just be user erros. Still, we need details please.

I'm betting the 370.

Shame he forgot to tell us what the problem is too. Something has been 'rendered' but rendered what?

Certainly sounds like he is just having a shouting fit about nothing! And to be honest, the language and grammar used suggests a none too brilliant level of I.Q. and low patience threshold, which fills me with some dread about the fact that he actually is / was a train driver in RL. Or am I being a bit too unfair?

High immersion level. It's not as if you need to tell the trainmaster that you "put it on the ground". Just start over or save and restart just before the problamitic area and correct your mistakes. It may be called a "simulator" but you did not pay $1,000,00.00 for it. Only a game. Sorry it doesn't meet your expectations.

the heading was meant to be consist tilt were did this saying come from never heard of it on the job

And as to my train driving record i had a near perfect record never hit a car or had a suicide and had a very enjoyable career

As you probably know consist tilt can come various reasons, misloaded freight cars, too much power applied to a long train through tight curves will have a tendancy to cause car flanges to climb the rail, unevel rail, wide gauge, poor ballesting to much speed causing railcars to start swaying in harmonic fequency to a point they will roll over. BTW some old stock in TS does have a tendancy to be more prone to consist tilt. THis happened on a route I was helping to build. A hopper car tilted around a curve in a tunnel portal and caused this and somtimes a derailment.

the incident i was refering to took place on Cajon pass Senerio was sd75 held up by highwaymen i was well ito the run with the dynamic brake in and holding when i approached an area where work was being done and a speed limit was imposed i started to increase the dynamic braking as i would in real life condidt tilt and crashed cannot remember whether the train was on a curve or not . As i said earlier with 30 years of train driving admitedly maximum load was 75 four wheel vechiles never had any problems of consist tilt also never ever suffered wheel lock while dynamic braking

It is what it is.

It's hard to imagine how a suicide WOULD affect your record. Same goes for hitting a car - unless you were speeding and beat the barriers at a crossing or neglected a caution.

Nerazzurri2014....Picture this,,,,,,,Your nearing the end of your shift,,youve done a double run from London to Faversham, and a wee bit of shunting during the day, your approaching Chatham platform from Rochester, the rain is pouring down hard, your wipers are distorting your view a bit, and all you have on your mind is finishing at Gillingham. Quite a few people at Chatham platform you notice, it is teatime after all, your speed at the begining of the platform is 28mph, and your a six car train. Lines of peoples faces flash past your vision as you continue slowing,,your now showing 19mph, and as you glance at your speed a commotion draws your eye back to the platform, just as you see someone or something step in front of your train,,you slam the brakes on,,but too late,,Thud! etc etc. That wouldnt affect you,,A?

Im sure there are folks who could shrug their shoulders and carry on regardless, with their career, but there would be other drivers who would be devastated, who would need councelling, and sadly there would be others who would never drive a train again.

As you suggest that affects different people in different ways. I once knew a driver who, after hitting his 6th suicide, complained that it caused him to spill his drink. I personally never hit anyone (apart from one that was already dead). If I had hit an adult that would be one thing, but I do know that if I had ever hit a child it would probably have finnished me.

Thx for that Glenn.
