Hope no-one reading this thread is Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobic :-)

To split hairs IIRC the speed limit in the tunnel is 100mph and it is just over 30 miles long- about 20 minutes at full chat. That's still pretty long but on the plus side the (lack of) scenery should see it run smoothly on modest hardware and the tunnel has quite a varied gradient profile so you'd need to be on your toes.

If I wanted to sit in the dark for 20 minutes going virtually and vaguely up and down I could just as easy spend it blindfold whilst freeroaming on that bloody useless pump car.

I know an official route by DTG is not possible, they tried to get a license deal and Eurostar refused, so hopefully this or some other dev is able to do it

In my expierence the Severn Tunnel (4mi) and the Arlbergtunnel (11km) are already too long.

Ah, my bad, sorry. Still, a valient effort none the less. Regarding tunnels, DTG and other developers have to be tactful when route building. Sitting in a dark tube for hours isn't for the most adventurous of society. I agree with Purno, even tunnels that take maybe 10 minutes to traverse loose my interest at least. Maybe that is why we don't have many underground/subway routes in-game....
