Report a translation problem
In regards to laying track for platforms I find the best way is to lay your track first then use the offset tool to place the platform next to the track. Manually laying the platform is a headache and wont look as neat as using the offset tool.
I have never personally found an object that can't be selected due to this reason (but I have had quite a few that disappear when viewed from close up or at oblique angles etc). This Radius is actually quite easy to correct, if you know the exact name & location of the objects GeoPcDx file, and if you are happy to edit such files - which really is not as bad as it seems!
Later this evening, I may create a few simple models and play around with the radius numbers and see what, if anything, I can find out.
