CAN'T MODIFY DEFAULT SOUNDS!
Now that I got my audio fixed, and verified my steam files, I would like to modify the default sounds to the real ones of my own (because you know DTG and stupid default sounds.) When I modify the PROXYXML file, I click save and it comes up saying to save it as a TEXT FILE. I don't know what to do after this! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! This is only occurs for the newer locomotives DTG has made. It used to just save the PROXYXML file and I was done. It is just problem after problem for me. Any help will be much appreciated!

Edit: It is fixed! Thank you LeadCatcher!

I am not trying to shout. I was using the all caps to provide emphasis and general important points.

I understand -- but it does come across as shouting -- Wish I could offer some in-sight but have done little editing of XML files for TS201X -- sounds more like "feature" of the editor vice anything else -- what are you editing the proxyxml file with?

Just did a test with komodo editor and open an XML then saved and it saved as an XMl file not a TXT file so again sort at a loss

I am editing the xml files with notepad.

Should I re-install?

Ok - edited a file.proxyxml and komodo edit saved it as a proxyxml file - no problem -- if you are using notepad make sure when you save the file - you don't have it going to the generic .txt file type change it to the *.* or all files then the editor will not tag on the .txt extension -- so nothing that DTG did to its file-types.

Edit - just modified a proxyxml file with notepad -- it defauls to saving everything as a test file -- just below the proposed file name there is a drop down box that has *.txt as the default extension just click on the arrow on the left and change it to *.* and it will save as a proxyxml extension

I tried what you said with notepad and it worked! I was using text file instead of all files. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated!
