uninstall and reinstall DLC File
I may have a corrupted CSX C30-7 file and it was suggested that I uninstall and re-install it; can anyone explain how to do that? Thanks.

On the main steam page about halfway down is a box with all your installed DLC in it.

Scroll the list until you find the CSX C30-7 addon then untick the "Installed" box.

Wait until it's done then close and re-open Steam.

Go to the DLC box again and re-tick the one you uninstalled. That will give you a fresh copy.

Do not do anything else until it's finished re-installing. Then give it a try.

Hope this helps.

... another method would be to navigate to your Steam/steamapps/common/Railworks/Assets/VRC/ folder and delete the CSX-C30-7 folder.

Then right-click Train Simulator in the Steam clients detailed view. Click 'Properties' and 'verify game cache'.

Both methods work.
2nd is more complicated.

Thank you very much to all who took the time to respond; it is much appreciated. I will try the suggestions let you know if it fixed the problem.

pjohnandlyns: I tried your method and though it uninstalled and then reinstalled, unfortunately it didn't fix my problem. The problem (ever since buying this DLC a couple weeks ago), the speedometer and the instrument console both show solid white in place of the instrument graphics when you activate the lights for them. Last week, someone told me I must have a corrupted file, as their CSX C30-7 did not display this issue, and suggested uninstall/reinstall. Do you have any ideas on this? Thanks.

Adam Beckett: If I delete the CSX C30-7 file, how would I get it back?
harrupjl Dec 12, 2017 @ 5:44pm
farvie: thank you for that suggestion, but I would rather live with the problem of no speedometer than go thru that type uninstall/reinstall.

It may be a valid bug. You may want to report it here, no guarantee you will get a helpfull response. http://dovetailgames.kayako.com/

rwaday: One other person said they have the CSX C30-7 and they are NOT experiencing these problems. That said, could MINE still have a "bug"?

Make a regualr backup of your Railworks folder, this can take some time. If you ever have to reinstall do so from backup, it takes time but you don't need to re downlaod everyhting, although it will check and redownload some files

Thanks to all who are helping me thru your responses. All in all, it's not a big issue, but when I buy something I expect it not to have such issues. Some QD scenarios have not been fixed as of today, even though I notified DTG 3 years ago and they acknowledged those "bugs" were on their "list to fix".

Backup, backup, backup a 250 GB external SSD is a must. Backup on a schedule and copy over the suspected files. You can run TS from this external drive to confirm issues. Should be extremely rare to reinstall everything.

rwaday: Thank you. I understand the general concept of file back-ups, but my practice of it is relatively little. I don't expect you to school me on the issue, (though you are free to try-:) but I have no idea how your suggestion works or how I would execute it if I tried.
