Train simulator & request stops?
Hello Everyone,

I've been meaning to ask this & see what you all think might happen. My question is now that we will soon have the North Wales Coast line for Train Simulator I wonder how the game will handle request stops?

As an example I just looked & on National rail enquiries it said that Deganwy is a request stop so I wonder how this will work maybe we will get a pop up message from the guard to ask us to stop here or something?

This will be interesting to see what the developers have planned since if the player is driving a Crewe to Llandudno service they will be driving through Deganwy station.

Plus I do hope one day the route will extend beyond Conwy as this is another request stop so I wonder if the plan is to one day release an extension from Conwy to Holyhead?

Maybe also at Shotton there could be a possability to (in the future) add in the Wrexham to Bidston (Borderlands line.)

But whatever the plans are well done to the developers for all your hard work. :steamhappy:

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts too guys.

Best wishes

Alan Sation :steamhappy:

If I am no wrong Arosa line has request stop feature and nobody complains about it. According to videos train has in-cab indicator and there is also indicator on stop if people wants to board. So it can be similar system. Another question is: Create DTG Duganwy as request stop?

It might vary from place to place. Over here the stop will be served for a couple of services and skipped by the rest.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all so much for your replies everyone. as it's good to hear your thoughts.

Hi pethulla, I do like the idea of the in cab indicator for request stops. so what would probably happen on the North Wales coast would be a passenger tells the guard they wish to get off at a request stop so the guard then uses the cab to cab phone to let the driver know of an upcoming station stop request (Although in the game that would probably be a pop up message.)

Something similar could mybe work for boarding passengers too you could get a pop up message from your controller to say a passenger has used the station help point in order to request you make a station stop to allow them to board.

Hi CrazyGecko, As far as I'm aware that's the same thing that happens here on lots of lines too since some stations will be skipped if they are less busy or only served at rush hours wheras others will be by request only. (Like when myself & a friend once went from Chester to Conwy I remember checking both with the plateform dispatcher & the guard to just make sure we were able to get off at Conwy & were sitting in the currect part of the train to get off.)

Hi Stoned Henge, Thanks for posting the video link as that's an interesting system with how request stops work with that train.

That's a nice looking train too I may have to look at that when I get in the mood to look at some new trains.

I'm also intrigued now if something similar would work on other types of train when it comes to request stops on train simulator.

Best wishes
