WIN10 64 Creator Update, another trouble with TS2017
Provided that I am a long time user of TSxx and until a couple of days ago all things went right, after the most recent Win10 update (to 15063.540 build, KB4034674), the game experiences trouble with textures rendering: terrain surfaces appear whitened, objects and rolling stocks instead are correctly showed.

In the past year, sometimes this issues happened but it was sufficient to re-start both Steam client and the pc to resolve it.

Now, after a complete reinstallation of the game, the issue persists.

Are there some suggestions?:steambored:

Before these updates TS2010 worked fine. And now, the third day after, no solutions to this issue has been found.

I tried to:

1) flushing the game cache;

2) completely re-installing the game (after de-installing fully);

3) Disabling Crimson-ReLive RailWorks profile;

4) Trying various graphic options in the game menu;

5) Flushing ALL temporary system files;

The only thing the made game functioning is disabling TSX option, but this makes the game unplayable.
Ok, here is an idea... we need to separate those issues a bit.

Your CPU is in fact an APU, with its own integrated graphics and I dare to say, that this one, while weaker than your main GPU, it is still somewhat capable to run TS2017, at least for testing purposes.

Try to bypass your GPU and try to use the IGP instead (mosty likely by pluging your display into a mainboard port).

There is a caveat, though. Your IGP is an older one and thus it requires different set of drivers (use the final Catalyst driver, not the beta Crimson, which has it own set of issues). Btw. with a bit of luck, you can install also your GPU using that driver set, Radeon R7 2xx was the last generation still supported by classic Catalyst drivers.

This will give us a clue, where the problem might be located - if it works, well, there is something wrong with your GPU, if it does not, there is something wrong with your system and we need to dig deeper.

So, I switched to the IGP to try your theory: you was right! Textures are showed correctly!

Then, I updated the GPU driver but - as expected - the Microsoft Store Film & TV stopped working.

I had to restore the system to an earlier control point (exactly the same day of the Win Hotfix installation.

Finally, I am here: the MS Store works but TS 2017 not.
OK... so the problem is located somewhere in the GPU (or most likely, in its drivers)...

Two things:

(obvious one) try different older versions

open the driver settings and let the application to control everything, it is possible, that there is some conflicting setting somewhere

Done.

No change.
Timeline of this issue:

-- Before August 6 2017: First noticed issues with Windows Store (Video);

-- Downloded C++ Runtime from MS;

-- August 9 2017: Windows Update with the hotfix that caused the TS2017 loss of textures rendering;

-- August 12 2017: AMD Radeon Crimson Drivers Upgrade; Restored System after MS Store Video faiure.

Before 8/817 - Yes - No

After C++ Runtime update - No - No

After 8/9/17 - No - Yes

De-installing & Re-installing TS17 - No - Yes

Validation of TS 17 files - No - Yes

I submitted today a Ticket to Dovetail Game website in order to ask assistance on this issue.

From what I was able to see on this forum, the white texture issue was quite common and almost universally went unsolved.

Hmmmm..... I had a little look round see what I could find out. I found very little as it happens. But one part (from the LogMate report) that caught my eye was the line containing " cHcDisplayManager ". I found a couple of bits on Google that pointed to this 'phrase'. On one I discovered that amd call thier interface a 'Display Manager' so this would suggest a problem with the graphics drivers. You might like to read this post on this forum some time ago that proved very helpful to one user (read about halfway down the page) > https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/8/617329505861011985/.

More worryingly though, I also came accross this page that suggests a way to fix it but it is refering to a pirated copy of TS > https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111014233439AAtfDc

Best Answer:  If you are using a copy that you downloaded a copy from torrent site, and it is by skidrow...

uninstall the game and make sure to delete the folder where you installed too, then reinstall and copy all content from the skidrow crack folder EXCEPT steam_api.dll.

You know after 3 years no likes, No comments im suprised i found this.
But yes this works 100% on the skidrow crack Currently one of the only seeding ones on TPB as of 27 of Feb 2015.

My copy is an original Steam TS ! I am sorry for those who suspects I have hacked copyrighted software, but here things are correctly purchased until the last euros!

You can delete your post if want! My copy has been purchased here at Steam since the first release and updated regularly until TS17 with all DLCs.
WARNING! All those in the forum suggesting my copy of TS is hacked will be promptly signalled to the forum owner for misconduct.

I do not tolerate a behaviour like this longer.

It is a shame that a long time user like me, who spent hundreds of euros in core software and DLCs has to suffer for similar attacks-
