Longest Route
I just feel like having a long train drive. What's the longest UK route in TS?

The longest route is Western Mainline (JT).
Canadian Mountain pass is the longest route which you can buy from Steam.

Longest UK routes on Steam, which I know:

Western Lines of Scotland (highly recommended)
West Highland Line South
West Coast Main Line North (older route)

All three roughly about 100 miles long.

You can have a look on a nice map here: http://cvk.pethu.se/routemaps.html
Some routes are from 3rd party developers though and are not available on Steam.

WCML over Shap is also a nice long route, which I like a lot.

Not Great Western Mainline (from Steam) but Western Mainlines from Justtrains. It is route from Paddington to Exteter (or Cardiff) and it has 300+ miles.

Even more once they've extended to Penzance. You will then have ove 400 miles of route to drive in one route! (and a small bit of crashiness)

I thought the route limit was under 400 miles?

If you have the Weardale and Teesdale route there's a Workshop scenario for the DMU from Middleton in Teesdale to Durham which is about as far as you can go in that DLC without turning round. While it might not be as great a distance as other routes most of it is 45mph so it takes a while.

I don't know, I had it that JT wanted to extend WM to Penzance, which would take it over 400 miles, but I may be wrong here

we are going to penzance certainly, well on its way to conpletion now

Weardale and Teesdale is the longest on Steam with a little over 200 miles of track, but it's not all in one stretch

Thank you for all your replies :)

There is a scenario for Western Lines of Scotland which takes you from Carlisle all the way to Stanraer with the Flying Scotsman.
I believe this scenario can take about 3 hours...

True but that wasn't my point. A 40 mile run at 45mph takes as long as an 80 mile run at 90mph. Looks like the Scottish Highland lines take the cake though.
