The manual explains it better though :)
The trick is to set the ammount of locomotives by the selector lever and dont put advanced models in a row, 1 advanced in front and up to 3 standard behind.

This Loco can be coupled on the GP20 Advanced model, up to 3x and the selection lever is working fine, all 4 are running simultaneously.
At the coldstart, select 2-4 depend on the total ammount of locos, at the back console, before starting, because the SD 45 starts too, what is impressive soundwork all 4 startup in line.
You are lucky with the BN liveries, I googled it why I cant buy Marias Pass, well Feather River Canyon and Soldier Summit in Utah are also eral nice routes.
BNSF was not produced for Maerklin, but Western Pacific trains cost more today then a complete premium set
