Nope, not me. Some scenarios can be frustrating, and some don't get the pulse rising much, but that's life, it's a simulation, not Grand Theft Auto, and that's why I like it.

I don't personaly find it boring, on the whole.

I do get bored with most of the US long-haul stuff but now I have built up a decent amount of UK stuff including 3rd party routes, sounds and accessories I can find plenty to do.

I rarely complete routes as such and get my pleasure from the non-ending variations and fun of driving different engines etc. I have even started on the electric stuff and am finding a different type of pleasure than my favourite UK diesels.

The sound packs have just made the game so much fun and way beyond what I had imagined.

For many here it's all about our memories from our youth which lights the fire. When I got TS I had no idea I would be swept away with my small amount of childhood memories of a couple of years of non serious train-spotting and lazy days along side the track embankment somewhere laying in the sun with a sandwich and a coke.

Happy days :steamhappy:

I do not find this ''game'' boring. I find it a flawed yet enjoyable ''simulator'' which offers real-time scenarios and accurate driving. If you want a game buy something else. or do ''free-roam'' and ''quick drive'' stuff.

Your question is a bit like walking into a football supporters club and asking them if they like the team they support. The majority here will say they don't find it boring otherwise they wouldn't use the sim.

The question you have to ask yourself is. "Am I really interested in railways?"

Yeah, I hate it when someone gifts me something that I don't enjoy...how thoughtless of that person. (Note: This message was created using the sarcasm font)

Yeah, I reckon you represent around 98% of the world, it's just they dont tend to populate these forums. As catlingrad says, those who don't like football don't tend to frequent football stadiums :)

*Looks at my hours played*
Apparently Not.

It's certainly a slow paced game. Sometimes it can stress but it's more about being very precise than being hyperactive, such as in Diablo 3.

I find that this game is excellent for relaxing activities while moderately paying attention. Watching as the scenery goes by. I agree with Axe in that I think the UK routes offer the best balanced and straightforward experience.

Many years ago I used to run long races in Need for Speed and I had the habit of thinking about things while doing so. Same goes in this sim. Some people get on real trains and go all around to have such kind of an experience. You can focus your thoughts about the area where you are, having a journey, visiting towns, villages, castles, or you can focus on other matters.

This kind of game is not for everyone. There is a whole religious battle in World of Warcraft between the people who want to fly and hop between the checklist, and others who say that it is the journey, the traveling, the human first person view experience, the walking on the road, the respect of certain geometries that makes them walk certain part of the roads.

Then again, I know people who don't like games like Diablo 3 (beyond the first story) because it does only one thing, engage your reflexes, and nothing else. You play for some hours and there are no consequences. Yet these specific people enjoy playing the Truck and Train Simulators.

I certainly do not find it boring - nor do I expect everyone to jump up and down with anticipation for the next DLC release. It is a niche product for train enthusiasts - definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I find it very satisfying - especially North American freight with some of the biggest diesel and steam engines in the simulation.

I do hope the OP finds a game or simulation more to his/her satisfaction.

I mean... I hardly play any scenarios... my 3000+ hours comes from the builder only. I guess I can't relate.

Well, I work for 'TransPennine Express' working Expresses from Man. Piccadilly to Glasgow & Edinburgh and Newcastle & Liverpool and my Mates at work can't understand why I work 8 to 12 hour shifts then go Home and drive them on here, but you'll not find many of my 'Scenarios' that I form boring, there based on my daily experiences but I back-date them to the 1980's :)

Dont you find it boring writing letters about being bored. Like ASHHILL07,,,,take a look at my hours logged, then go away back to your ship simulator, which would have me BORED to death.

Indeed, once you get caught by the "scenario making disease" time is flying without being bored.
