Raildriver Buttons stopped responding
Hello all!

As the subject says I have a raildriver controller, everything has been working great till yesterday.

All the levers work correctly and TrainSim responds to them --- but all the buttons including the bell, horn, arrows, etc - have all stopped responding in trainsim --

I used notepad to see if the buttons are working, and indeed yes, they work fine outside of TS -- But when I alt-tab back into TS2017, its a big nothing. and yes, my keyboard buttons are responding fine -- so i'm left to drive with my levers, and use the keyboard! Oh the tragity! lol =(

Curious if anyone else is having a simlar problem?

Thanks!!!

(running Macroworks 3.1.v1.1.1.79)

Also just wanted to share because I find it funny -- i'm playing TSW -- and yes, no levers work there or anything, but I needed sand -- couldn't remember the keyboard shortcut so i pushed the Sand button on the raildriver and got sand! lol

Go to macroworks, and go script>new. That's what I do when things start playing up like this.

Hiya Freighttrainx,

Thanks for the suggestion --- already tried reloading the script i use, and also rolling back to original, and tried new as well -- no such luck =(

Dump macroworks. You need to go online and find the TS2017 Raildriver Interface. It was developed by a third party person who was tired of the failures of macroworks. His program is standalone, requires macro works be deleted, and IMO it works much better than macroworks.

If its MP cut out or ignore the yawns, urrs, arrrs, and rights, and you may learn something. I just cannot abide his vids or streams. Other than that he's ok.

CobraOne-Chris's? http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=139830&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Ok -- i saw that last night and wasn't sure if i should try it ---

So I've installed- and running -- very cool, but -- still having exact same problem - the levers, and switches work, but none of the buttons. Horn, Bell, Alerter, or any of the shortcut buttons on the bottom. big fat nothing. =*( TY for suggestion though!!!

So I just want to verify with y'all or anyone else that wants to chime in ---- your raildriver is working just fine? I know TS just had an update on wednesday, so i just wanna make sure its on my end and not on TS...

Yes, mine work with the normal raildriver drivers. (I never bothered with the 3rd party because I bought mine after all the problems were fixed).

My bet is that your button board may have broken or become disconnected somehow. They're built kind of cheaply on the inside. If it's just a wire and you're comfortable with that sorta thing, you might be able to just reconnect it. I can't really remember what that part looks like. I dug into it to fix a lever a while back.

see thats the kicker -- the buttons work in windows just fine --- if i push the horn i get a "space", if i push the bell i get a "b", if i push the ext. view i get a "2" - i can even use the zoom button to move scroll the window up and down ---- so the buttons are working, but TrainSim isn't responding to them. it's like its ignorning the controller except that the throttle, reverser, brakes (both) wipers and headlights all work correctly. =(

Oh, well clearly that's not the case then. And I have no ideas. If you press those keys in the game does it work, or do you have to use your mouse?

i have to use my keyboard or mouse -- the buttons arn't doing anything in TS. =( ok. got my answer -- other Raildriver controllers are still working correctly -- its just me. lol

woo woo.

Thanks for trying though! I appreciate it! =)

UPDATE:

So i should have done this from the start, but a complete uninstall and reinstall of macroworks and everything is working in TS2017. Glad i did this before contacting support lol

Anyway - anyone else have issues like this, there's the solution. lol
Happy Rails!
