ok thanks.
are you sure?
A red signal doesn't mean it is broken it means there is a train present in the next signal block.
Basically
Green signal means the next signal block is clear for at least two signals
Double yellow means that the next signal is yellow and you should be slowing down
Single yellow means the next signal is red.
Red signal means you must stop, because there is a train in between the signal or the route has been set for another train.
You should not press tab at all Red signals that is not the point of using the tab function, the tab function should only be used if you need to move into an occupied block either for shunting moves or for coupling to another service.
If the signal is Red it is most likely for a reason; pressing tab will, in a lot of cases, cause a potential crash with an AI or a derailment with a junction set against you.
Nope! Not always the case. A single yellow means 'Caution', the next signal 'MAY' be a Red. I've had single yellow lights only for the next one to either still be yellow or even green.
Fair point, I stand corrected :) Although in most cases on a main line it will most likely be a red when you pass the yellow however by the time you get to the next one the section ahead of it might have cleared :) and might have change from red to another yellow, two yellows or a green.
(unless its an approach to yellow junction of course)
PS - Generally a single yellow does mean the next signal is either a red or a junction, however by the time you get to that signal it might have changed since. (so is red when your train is at the yellow signal )
Two yellows lights in a signal means: There is the main and a diverging track. Both tracks have a train or consist two blocks ahead of yours, so get ready to stop in the next signal, as you could get a red light. There may be also a switch set against your track (i suppose that is what is called here a broken...), two blocks ahead.
Maybe one day we will see them in TS......
You're all being far too helpful to someone whose copy of TS and *all* its DLC (his claim) has apparently fallen off the back of a lorry.
