Just Trains Common library
I got The Harrogate Loop because it's very local to me. I thought I had all the DLC but I'm missing a lot of textures. I think it must be because I don't have the Just Trains Common library which I thought I would have because I've got The Mayflower line (JTs extension) for GEML.

So can anyone confirm.....the common library doesn't come with The Mayflower Line?

And if that's the case must I buy another JT line? and what would you recommend?

I think the mayflower line is pretty old, isn't it? As far as I remember you need a route which was created after JT Newcastle to Edinburgh route.

But you can always check for yourself if you own the Common library. Open your games folder got to the 'Assets' folder, then open the 'JustTrains' folder and have a look if you find a folder called 'CommonLibrary' there.

Alternativly you can check the Harrogate Loop route with RW_Tools/TS-Tools and see what's missing.

Thanks Mountainman, it hadn't occured to me and I do need to know for sure that that's the issue. I've seen on other forums it mentioning any route made after Newcastle, Edinburgh, but how do I know which lines were created after it and if I must get a JT line, which is the best?

To be honest, I don't know how to find out when exactly the routes have been released. Maybe search some forums (alan thomson sim or UKTS?), there are often threads for those routes, which have been created around the release time of the route.
Another idea could be buying one of their routes from Steam. I'm pretty sure they all come with the Common Library pack. And even if it's not included, with Steams refund policy, you could easily refund the route.

The only JT route I own is the Western Mainlines. Quality isn't the best, so I never bought another route from them.

Expect many subjective opinions!

Personally my favourite is Cornish Main Line, the Midland Main Line and it's extensions are also very good.

Sadly after checking my assets I have the common library already so it's not that and I definitely have all the other dlc too - so I've uninstalled it, a shame really as Harrogate loop looks like a really well done line but something isn't right for me.

You may well have the common library but as you already discussed above it requires a newer version of it.

Do you think that's definitely the reason DPSimulation? The version I have must have come with the Mayflower line. It would be nice to think that's the solution as I'd really like to have Harrogate Loop indeed I even bought ECML Modern, a line I didn't really want just so I could have it.

I think it might be, Mayflower Line is certainly one of the older products that contained items from the Common Library so a newer route should have what you need. Did you run the route through TS Tools to see if you were actually missing physical assets as well as textures? It's just that I don't want to be the one that gets you to spend money only for it not to work! :)

As i'd already said above the Cornish Main Line is pretty good and does contain a newer version of the library and it's only £13.19 in the sale currently at JT. I believe you are a fan of steam trains as well? The route does provide a good challenging run in that respect.

Thanks for your advice DPS - I haven't run it through TS tools, I'm sorry to say I've never put the time in to work out how to use it. Harrogate Loop loaded up lovely and from what I could see (I know the area really well) there was nothing in terms of assets that seemed obviously missing, but of course they could be, but nothing critical, so it seemed - it just seems to be purely textures.

I might jolly well have to plump for the Cornish mainline too , it would be nice if it sorts it.

Sadly getting Cornish mainlines hasn't sorted it, so I don't know why I'm missing the textures. The website suggests it 'should' work ok with the Steam version of Wherry lines......that's the only thing I think it could be.......
