Just Trains Great Western Mainline - any good?
I'm on the verge of buying this route whilst it's on sale, but I've heard it is very demanding on the computer and having watched some YouTube footage, lag seems an obvious problem. I was wondering whether anyone on this forum had any problems...

Runs fine for me with a medium spec PC on low(ish) graphics (i.e. between 20-30 fps), but will reach up further in some areas. It can crash, but I'd say it's still worth a go, as 300 miles for about £18 is under 20p per mile. Scenarios are pretty light on the PC too as they lack in AI, I don't really use quick drive much, but I have heard that that can be a bit crashy (but also only goes from Cardiff, London or Exeter so is a but useless). I'd just get it, at this price it's a steal as it essentially includes JT's Bristol-Exeter, their Avonmouth route, South Wales Coastal (not quite such high quality, granted) AND the entire line from Bristol and Oxford to Paddington.

Hope you enjoy it :)

Thanks very much for the advice, I am new to gaming and bought a new computer with an i7-6700K CPU@4GHz, 16GB RAM, 64 bit and a Nvidia GeoForce GTX 1080 and most routes seem to run at 120 FPS, with occasional drops to 20-30 when loading scenery on longer routes.

Looks like a decent rig, I can only dream... Western Mainlines should run fine, although as I say you may want to lower settings a bit more than you'll be used, particuarly scenery quality can cause low fps / crashes. Have fun!

This route also has free roam with 9 different starting points, so you can please yourself where you go. Good (better than QD) for learning the route.

Also with Freeroam if you know what your doing you can place whatever train you want in the editor to drive! If I was you I would save every few minutes to be on the safe side though!
