It no longer exists as 'Test Track. Go into the drive menu, select free roam and there you will find 'Academy' . thats the name for the nice shiny new test track!

I've still got the original Test Trak. Look in the free roam route list and it's there with 2 scenarios. Academy is something different.

If you still have the scenarios you are simply in luck as for those that had to reinstall after 2014 edition lost the scenarios that came with the testrak. perhaps you have scenarios from workshop or 3rd party? but yes, testrak is still there but probably only available trhough build menu or by downloading scenarios from WS or other sites

Maybe I'm fortunate in never having had to do a "reinstall" since I got RW 3 TS 2012. Only ever done a "verify" via Steam on odd occasions and a regular "clear cache" in game after using editor.

Test Trak doesn't show in QD or Drive, Career/Standard. It does show though in Free Roam with 2 scenarios, 1 with a pair of 37s, I think from the C 37 loco add on and 1 with a C 86 again from the C 86 add on (not from WCMLN). They are not from Workshop or 3rd parties.

It is also there via Build, Route or Scenario.

I'm pleased for you, yes you are fortuante. You've probably fully backed up your whole RW folder, but if not I'd certainly do a.s.a.p. Yes those that seem in the best place are those that had the full deluxe version of TS2012 and have never had to do a full reinstall since initial reinstall.

Mavadelo is absolutely correct that in TS2014, DTG seemed to withdraw the original TestTrak from the core-game. Even those with older installations, if needing to do a fulln game reinstall via Steam would to their horror (I include myself here) find that the original Test Trak was at that time removed as a DLC linked to players' Steam accounts. So even if you orignially had it (and had paid for it!) for some the TestTrak DLC was removed from their player Steam accounts, so wouldn't be available in case of game reinstall by individual players.

As Glenn has suggested I believe the idea (by DTG) was to completely do away with the TestTrak with TS2014's introduction of the Acadamy and it's variant smaller test-traks. However, at least during that year; DTG made a modernised version of the original TestTrak available as a WorkShop route for download via Steam Subscription. Then towards the end of the lifespan of TS2014, DTG removed with no warning entirely removed this newer WS version of the TestTrak from Steam. When TS2015 was launched, there was no longer the original (or more modern revised) version(s) of the TesTrak available, players would have to make do with the Academy instead. A really poor alternative in my personal opinion! Thankfully I still have the original TestTrak available via regular RailWorks backups over the years. For those that are missing the original TestTrak, well a pretty good modernised version of the original still (or at least did do until very recently; I haven't checked for a few months) could be downloaded on the UKTrainSim forum site. So hopefully the OP (if doesn't have a RW backup to reinstall his own original) can still get hold of a very similar TestTrak.

@griffin_daniel. You may want to double check that your Isle of Wight route is still in place. Mine completely vanished at the same time the TestTrak disappeared. Plus I lost all sorts of other DLC including the original Class 37 pack, the Class 08s, the original 66 and 101. Effectively daylight robbery of historic DLC, with no warning, or apology by DTG!!!

warning? apology? they don't have those words in their dictionary

remember BNSF and please don't give one cent worth for their "promise" to keep supporting TS when the new game comes out

All I can say is when they effectively abandon the current TS20xx series as they move onto the new Unreal Train Simulator, they'd better as promised leave the existing core game fit for purpose! When players in some cases have historically spent thousands of dollars/pounds/euros on DLC for the game; they have every right to expect to be able to continue enjoying playing their content for a good while to come.

I still have nightmares of DTG for some reason deciding they have to do one final major core update of TS (i.e. a TS2017 or equivalent) and make a complete mess of it, leaving us all permanently in dire straights. Please, no more tinkering with the core game. By all means add new DLC for increased sales revenue, but please please don't damage (by needlessly tinkering) the current TS2016 core by trying to add new unwanted features; that the old graphics engine simply can't take; it's beeen pushed to the absolute limit already!. We've had some very bad experiences with the TS2015 and TS2016 core updates. Now the core game, a revised updated TS2016 seems to be basically working okay, please DTG keep it that way! I beg thee!! ;)

the UKTrainSim forum does not have the TestTrak to download (Railworks TesttraK DLC). Anyone knows where you get this file?

There is a re-make on the workshop, just search for it and it will come up on the first page.

It was an official TS route, so you won't find it on UKTS. If you owned TS prior to early 2014 then it should be in your DLC list as "Railworks TestTrak DLC". If you only bought TS recently, then you won't have it I'm afraid.

There is another twist to this tale... this route DLC was forcibly removed from our accounts (and at least one DLC shared its fate - the original Port Road).

I was able to recover this route by a lucky coincidence, when I bought a pack of DLCs through a 3rd party site.

I have it still somehow.

I am not saying that you don't. :steamhappy:

I am just saying, that RSC was playing dirty with our accounts at one point (and when I am at it, I must quickly add, that DTG representatives apologized for that some time later and that this was the last incident of this kind I am aware of).

Not blaming you, especially as I thought I deleted it ages ago! Maybe I could give it to the OP or castleplage.
