Class 73 frustration

I have been trying to run the blue class 73 on the Portsmouth direct 3rd rail and the Chatham line 3rd rail. Whilst it works on Diesel and when I press Y it tells me its changed to 3rd rail it won't move. I have tried the 73 scenario that is on the Chatham line and that drives ok. Anyone tell me why this may be? And what routes does the 73 work on (or not). Ta.

It should work on all Third Rail Routes. I take it you are moving the reverser into series or parallel and are 'reducing throttle' to use things such as 'Shunt' and 'WeakField'?
