skill issue. Look at the error log and go from there. You'll be playing in no time.
How exactly did they "make" you pay for this. Take some personal responsibility. If you enjoyed evolved why did "you" "choose" to buy this?
What does it say when you crash?
Is it a D3D hung issue? I get that all the time from the stupid clouds and fog.
Try turning off volumetric crap with:
"r.volumetricfog 0"
"r.volumetriccloud 0"
"r.vsync 1" (if you want vsync at 60hz to avoid screen tearing)
"r.fog 0" (helps clear up the view also)
Unfortunately and for unfathomably wise reasons these settings don't stick so you'll have to type them in each time you play.
Oh WOW!!!! You have a computer someone talked you into spending $6,000 on? I paid LESS than half of that and I can run this game with almost no crashes.
Like a car or a house, it is not about how much you pay for it. What the PC is built with is all that matters. Sounds like your PC was not built with the best hardware all that money can buy. That or you spent all that money about 10yrs ago. LMAO.
I just have to say this type of response serves zero purpose. Captain did you not deal with the same BS that everyone else did? If you don't remember they shut down every Official Evolved surver forcing people to either buy Ascended which they had previously promised to us all for free or just stop playing. Sorry to be a Richard Cranium but comments like this piss me off because they are just condescending nonsense, considering the history of Ark over the past 5+ years and the constinuous broken promises and shortcomings from Wildcard.
This game was rated as the worst optimized game of the year on some sites that test games so this guy does have a reason to be frustrated at the terrible performance and constant crashes. As I write this I could be playing but every time Wildcard pushes out a new patch they are too stupid and lazy to actually test their code before dumping it onto the world. I am a Software Quality Assurance Engineer by trade and if a developer pushes bad code to the repo breaking everything too many times they get fired from almost any dev job. Wildcard pushes broken code to the end user almost every time they make a patch or update. That means the issue is far bigger than just one or 2 devs.
50-60 FPS with high/epic quality (rtx 4070ti + i9-12900k)
It's your problem, not wild card problem.
We all agree Wildcard bad, but Ark too good to care Wild Card bad so we buy Ark 1 Ark 1/2 and will buy Ark 2 if ever released.
Either enjoy the game or don't.
But to the OP I had the same issue on my PC, the problem was frame generation and DLSS, just turn those off and it will not crash. My wifes brand new computer can run it on Ultra no issues, she had the same exact issue because DLSS and frame generation were on. Volumetric lighting was not the issue but did make the water look scary as ♥♥♥♥ to swim in compared to mine having it turned off.
clock down your cpu. i have a intel 13900k and make from 6000MHz to 5200MHz in mainboard settings when you start the pc.
I only have a 2700$ PC and my game never crashes
No. You need components that work well with eachother.
Seen a bunch of people having issues with the 4090 because their choice of cpu and ram is horrible and end up bottlenecking their heavy gpu
