seriously though you should go to the "guides" section, it's second tab from the top right, and repost this there.

Oh...I have plans for that. Problem is that right now, access is denied for that feature until the game is actually released on Steam

My own list of essential fixes is very similar with a couple of other ones as well including a proper jump button ala GZ Doom or Duke 3D & Ion Maiden. They're all in the plugins folders for my copies. It'll take ages to track down all their download pages again so I'll just share my legacy aleph one copies in general and you can extract all the plugins from their folders.

It also has the visual mode & vasara plugins for editing textures in Weland, older versions of Eternal with better level design in the dream levels (and less use of pretentious latin), a version of the Windows 95 Marathon 2 WAD by one of the A1 devs that has music and fog added to it, my original M1A1 copy from 2012 before Classic Marathon 1 files were compatible with the sourceport, Marathon Redux (an alpha build), Tempus Irae & The Lost Levels, Aleph One PID and the super secret level in Marathon 3, Hats Off to Eight Nineteen.

would people suggest to wait for the steam version to drop or use the available copies with these fixes? never played Marathon games and would like to see whats up with decent QoL addons

Steam version, from what I gather so far, is going to function like AlephOne normally does. The reason Treellama wanted to release the game on Steam is so that people had a chance to play it before the reboot gets released. They are of course, doing this with Bungie's blessing.

If you want to get a feel for the core mechanics of the game, I recommend checking it out. now I have no idea what changes the Steam version will have, but the core of the game-play will definitely not be changed...nor will the story..which is vital to the lore of the entire franchise.
