this vs. kiarosoft's game dev story?

Looks pretty much the same but game dev story is cheaper. Why should I get this?

It IS pretty much the same game, as Game Dev Tycoon is heavily influenced by Game Dev Story.
Tycoon does have more content, though. It also is more 'balanced' compared to Story.

It has more things to do, better graphics, More control of your game and its still adding on to the game. This one is the way to go. Trust me i played both.

Well I did enjoy game dev story but I got bored of It quick...I'm fairly sure the same will happen here so I'm going to stay away for now

Also by the way neither of these games could have copied off each other as Game Dev Story was released on the 1st of July and Game Dev Tycoon was released on the 28th of April. (Dev's Website and Windows Store). Games arn't made in a month.

The original Game Dev Story was released in Japan for the PC in April 1997. It was ported in 2010 to both iOS and Android.

It's a rip-off.
The developers for this game didn't have any idea of what to do, and simply copied Game Dev Story in every aspect, adding a few things here and there so they could use it as an excuse that the game is different.

I was about to post the same thing when I saw this game and saw this thread already existed.
This game is a total rip off in my opinion.
And of course they added some stuff just to get rid of posts like these.
They didn't even have the creativity to give the game a total different name and also use Game Dev and replace Story with Tycoon.
It's just pathetic to use someones succes for your own without having done any proper thinking or work.

If they posted something like "Kairosoft's "Game Dev Story" has highly inspired me to create the same game with added option and release it to you PC users in English."

But nothing at all and thats just pathetic...
Been playing Kairosoft games for years and they deserve some credit for the awesome games they bring out.

I own game dev story, but it doesn't have steam cloud, which is the secret sauce of good games.

I don't own this game, though, and probably won't unless it becomes quite cheap or has cool updates D=

Ya it does look like a rip-off. In a way that makes me want to get it. These tactics might be unethical (I don't know if they played the mobile or whatever). If they managed to improve the formula then I'll want this game.
