Can I rename games?
So I accidentally named 2 of my games the default (game #x) and would like to rename it somehow. It's kind of immersion-breaking so it would be helpful if there was a way. Even if I can't do so in-game, how can I edit the save file to do so?

I think you can during development, but not after it's completeld.

I meant after it was already completed. And for whatever reason when I tried editing one of those games at release (the window at the top allows you to edit the name) it changes back to game #x.

I do that all the time. When you edit the name you have to click the pencil next to the name to have it accept it. If you don't it reverts back to the origional name.

When it's completed you can change it again, afterwards I don't think you can.

So annoying... I really wish you could edit it later.

Ik this is a suoper old thread, but incase anyone sees it in the future, you 100% can. Just not ingame.

1. Save and quit.
2. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<number>\239820\remote.
3. The file you are looking for is most likely "slot_1" though it may be another, like the autosave one.
4. Do CTRL + F to search, and search for the name of your game.
5. Now just change the name (after making a backup of the file), be mindful of the quotes you don't want to delete those.
6. Save and return to your game.
