A new update for The Omins teaser demo is now available.

Teaser Demo v1.4 introduces a checkpoint system.

This allows you to continue your progress without restarting the scenario from scratch each time you close the game. It is not a full save system yet, but a first step in that direction.

You can now select unlocked chapters directly from the main menu:

Mushrooms have been added to the world as a new resource.

Gatherers can now collect them, and like meat, they can be used for soldier recruitment.

This update also includes a wide range of improvements:

• UI and UX improvements, including better objectives readability and control panel buttons

• Improved command visibility when holding the right mouse button

• Expanded and refined tutorials

• Gameplay fixes, improved camera responsiveness, and smoother behavior

• Balance adjustments and additional fauna

• Localization improvements

The current demo is available outside of Steam and can be downloaded from the official project page.

More updates are already in progress. A full save system is planned for v1.5, followed by updates focused on expanding the game with new content.

This update focuses on one key goal:
making The Omins easier to learn while keeping its immersive, living world intact.

Getting into the game is now much more intuitive.

A new Tutorial System guides you through the core mechanics step by step: camera controls, unit selection, classes, buildings, population growth and recruitment.

A new Player Statistics board is now available from the Game Over screen.

At the end of each run, you can look back at the development of your settlement through key metrics such as:

• population and growth

• economy and resources

• military strength

• expansion progress

It is a simple way to better understand how your village evolved and how your strategy performed.

Several improvements make the game more readable and responsive:

• Danger indicators for Omins and enemy units

• Improved UI scaling on high-resolution screens

• Larger and more responsive selection

• Faster zoom and smoother navigation

• Added splash intro

• Added user settings saving (audio, video, language, tutorial progress)

• Renamed Lair to Den
