There's a note with a german poem, that's what OP is talking about, it's in german regardless of what languaje you pick for the game

I don't get why they would put in something like that, that only people who read German could understand, how is it advancing the plot to anyone else? O.o Some method of translating easily would have been nice.

I stuffed a little of it into google. It appears to be a lullaby. The title translated as "This Heart."

The first few lines (rough) are:
Sleep my child, sleep
This heart beats under my hand
And I (weigh yourself)
In this open wound
This heart.

Gently flowing through me,
And your heart belongs to me
And I (weigh yourself)
And I send my love in
This heart.

Dream (of) holy wounds
Will bleed
And the angel of mourning

I think it means:

Added screenshot of the note so someone can take a crack at it. I'm sure it's mangled by google and made worse by me. I took it as a bizarre lullaby that focuses on one of the major symbols/metaphors of the game: the heart. The rest of my thoughts on that are major spoilers. But maybe someone else can translate this.
