Insane system requirements

The game doesn't look that good but requires those specs? Seriously, those system requirements will scare off most consumers considering that the first amnesia game far lower system specs requirements and could be played on a pentium 4.

You should be able to run the game, albeit on the lowest settings. If you'd have any problems with it, I'd blame your processor and graphics card, neither of which you can upgrade as this is a laptop.

Hmmm, im not sure how I feel about this D: I have been really exited for this game since they announced it ages ago, but im running a semi-old PC. I manage to play most other new releases on it, but these minimum requirements seem to be above what I have.

David, I think yes, but you should overclock it just like me. My Core 2 Duo is overclocked from 2.4 GHz to 3.15GHz

You have a low-end GFX card, don't expect too much from it. Low settings will probably work.

I'm not so sure, you don't seem to have enough hard disk space. I think you need at least 4tb in RAID to do anything nowadays. And only one 7950? Good luck, might get in on the lowest settings.

It isn't strange at all. Updated shaders, and greater use of GLSL features as the pictures shows. Newton physics engine has probably been updated as well. Thats why a strong cpu is required.

But the required processing power to play the game will minimize the people buying the game. Sure, there will be those that will buy the game nevertheless, disregarding the fact that they can't play it, but it will not be profitable for frictional games to do so, even if high graphical fidelity is tempting to further increase immersion.

What I'm trying to say is that the gap in system requirements between the first and second amnesia game is huge and this might be a result of poor coding and optimization rather than increased visuality aspects. I'm not saying that the game must retain it's original aesthetics so that I or people with lower end pcs can play it, I just don't want this game to become another Cryostasis or Magicka. If you know what I mean that is.

so... your saying no pc game ever could have higher system requirements than the previous game, so the developers would need to stay in the stone age in terms of graphics, and tech. I'm sorry your current pc is not able to handle this game. being a part of the pc gaming side of things, means spending the money to upgrade. Either do it, or stop complaining. I, and countless others, will be enjoying this game. If you have a pc that cannot play this game, you should not be in the pc gaming side of things.
