patch?
can anyone confirm it fixes bugs like the horrible microstutter that i got on a high end system. LOVE playing this game so far through the stuttering regardless and if this played as flawlessly as TDD. This is going to be awesome. I'm in class on a laptop and unable to check this issue but can someone confirm what this patch fixed?

I just tried playing and it did not change anything regarding performance/optimization....at least not in my case. I rememer TDD used to run perfectly on my system. This game, however, stutters non stop, even if I lower my graphics to the lowest possible level. I don't know what the 256mb patch fixed, but it certainly did not do anything in regards to the optimization of the game. I hope you have more luck.

I have no idea. Usually you can see it under "View news", but it isn't showing anything at the moment.

Please remove the settings file from Documents/Amnesia/Pig and also either start a new game or load a saved game but play all the way to the next level in order to get the most out of the effort made to minimize the stutter.

hey thanks! it seems to have been significantly reduced to almost completely gone. Should be a thread somewhere pinned with this fix. Well while i still notice it exists, it doesn't happen every 5-10 seconds now which is nice.

Unfortunately, it hasn't changed much in my case. I tried removing the settings files, starting a whole new game, even using that dev_user profile that is showing in my profile window. I couldn't see the improvement.

I am running at the lowest settings (adavaced options), only thing remaining is to remove VSync and try again, which I doubt will change much since I have tried it before the update and it helped just a bit.

It is wierd also how it takes so long to load the first part where you start a new game (that loading screen showing a drawing of a human heart). I can really feel my pc struggling while trying to play this game, which is wierd, seeing how some other equivalent or more demanding games run smoothly. I had no such problem with TDD though, and as far as I know, and that is not much HaHa, both games seem to use the same engine.

I might retry to play around with settings and see if I can get the best out of it, but at the moment, I just don't feel like playing this way. I appreciate the devs effort though, seeing that they are trying to help and releasing a new patch. I hope you guys had more luck with it.

yeah it's definitely still there. perhaps its a placebo me thinking it was reduced but it's definitely NOT gone with the patch. I guess that's why it was called stutter improvement and not stutter fix.
