Talking Candles?

So I found a Interesting Candle. Not sure if it's a Easter Egg, or some part of a Puzzle. Focus Highlights it's with a large blue Fog around it and a trail of Smoke rising up from it. When you Light it, is says some dark things, like Death, Sorrow, Loss, and "Kill Her".

The One I found is Just after the Shop in Baron's Way South, up the ladder, look up and it should be near some Pipes.

You can see the candles better in Focus mode and they seem to be in every free roam style area of the game. One of the quotes is "Don't Forget me". It has importance, must have as it is making obvious direct references to you and Erin and some third party? The chruch Crone implies something w/Erin also when she tells you that there are more dangerous things in the night than you when you ask about you past right in the begining.

Found a couple in the watch customs yard near the burnt keep (opens after chapter 5). Both said "Agony".

Edit. Found some more.


1. Directly east of the entrance window to the watch customs office. This is part of the side quest to get an urn of ashes.
2. Just NW of the Obelisk 2 in Bait and Switches 2. It's near the peak of a building. Best way to view it is go south of the obelisk, face it, flash focus while looking to the left and up of the Obelisk.
3. Out the west window to the watch customs office is another across the street on a balcony. This one says "Freedom". This may already be in the Baron's Way post but I couldn't get to it from the street.
4. As you head towards Market St and right before the Chapter 6 starting point you should see a Market St going across the street. To the right is a building that has a candle (face east). Also says "Freedom".

The locations they were at:
1) KAITLIN COURT: above the Bait and Switch 1 Obilisk
2) BLACKFARROW: Under the stairs just before turning left to that Obilisk
3) BLACKFARROW: Looking directly at 2, turn right and look accross the way, it is just barely visable but there
4) BLACKFARROW: From 2 climb up as far as you can to the left and stand in front of an openable window, then look left and it is in the rafters there
5) BLACKFARROW: From 2 climb above 3 and start across the wooden platform you had to shoot down, headed towards the clock tower, it is to the right next to a chimney
6) CLOCK TOWER PLAZA: Above the bookshop, where you had to use a rope arrow to get up to the handmirror side quest, follow the beams over to the birdnest and look far across the square to a balcony you can't get to, the candle is just visible from the bird nest (not the one you can get to with the claw alone)

Anyone find any others?

Here are some more I've found.
7) BLACKFARROW: just above the ground level entrance to the South Baron's Way area, have to wirecut a drawbridge down, then hop across a gap with a rope arrow, look towards South Baron's Way and it's in a window sill
8) South Baron's Way: Starting from the North end working southwards here, this one is across from the Watch Office you can change zones through
9) South Baron's Way: As you approach the guards in the south, this one is just above the Chapter 1 rerun portal
10) South Baron's Way: This one is a little farther south, can be seen at the same time as #9, just past the guard tower
11) South Baron's Way: As you exit the vendor's tunnel it is right in front of you, think this is the one the OP first mentioned
12) South Baron's Way: Just before leaving for South Side turn around and it is above you on the way towards the guard tower (facing opposite direction from 9+10, and right across from #10)

I thought it was connected to the Apothecary Basso Job, I dunno. Really want to find out what answer.

I've found a bunch of them, but the only location I can remember off the top of my head is looking out from the courtyard of the police station (the one where you free the bearded lady), in the tower on the right.

I found out 10 of them. Lighted them all. Said something about a knife when i lighted one. Anyone lighted all 12?

There are definitely more than 12... I'm up to about at least 16 by now. They must do something!

They are all over the city, in every district. I've come across at least 20. I'd hate for this to be for nothing.

I've only found two so far, the second one I lit said "Finally".

The idea about Brother Murrus seems likely. Especially with the newspaper about outlawing the old gods. My guess is these are spirit candles of Hammerites hanged for standing up for their belief in The Builder.

i can tell there are a few more then are listed here though describing there location is a pain they were most likely placed by the wax witch a person from a basso side quest whose note mentions them countering the gloom havent seen any specific use for them though
