I just noticed this fact yesterday. I was replaying missions to ghost them and pick up the few thieving challenges I'd missed in the client jobs.
I needed combat takedowns in 'The Happy Medium' quest and that was ruined for me by having the bow fully upgraded and the 'Blackwing Feathers' trinket (that's another story).
I couldn't even get them to initiate combat without barging in front of them and knocking them on the head with my club. Quite funny, really, but a real immersion breaker.
To think how long I spent getting the timing right especially on that safe in the Graven area of Chapter 6. Total waste of time, I think.
Now I don't know if I'm playing well or just getting away with mistakes.
The Client Job Combat Takedowns are easier. 2 broadheads in the leg is all you need to get them to a knee and do your CT. (on Master Difficulty, probably less on Thief and rogue). It's only on Chapter 2 that you can't get
For anyone reading this and not a similar reply you made (about the chest), you have my eternal gratitude!
I had no idea that trinkets could be stored... maybe I didn't pay enough attention to the on-screen hints.
I did honestly regret getting it, except that it made me realise what I'd taken for frustration without it was actually the fun bit!
Thanks again.
What a silly idea adding such trinket.
Too bad I didn't think could have unequipped it...
