Everything else is done better in Dying Light 2
if you dont like dying light 2 being bright then chance the video settings lol you can make it look like the original game.
I liked the sense of desperation in dying light 1 more. in dying light 2 i feel like im playing a super human. I like them for different reasons. Its a close call for me but i think i like dying light 1 more just because of the sense of desperation i feel like the atmosphere is more like the world is ending. In dying light 2 it feels more like a young adult novel in the writing, which i guess isn't bad in itself but it isnt my cup of tea. I will still play both though and enjoy both. I think i even have more hours in dying light 2 but i have more memories of the first one.
TLDR: It depends on what you like. many of the problems people had with dying light 2 were fixed.
features such as, not being able to repair weapons indefinitely, exploation is worse because of dark zones.
At the endgame you basically have a 10 minute long immunity + by that time I'm sure you've crafted at least 100+ immunity boosters lmao
I can't compare to DL2 yet, didn't play it(I got it installed already). But since many people prefer DL1 over DL2 then it can be problematic... I will return once I finish DL2.
- The maps are super copy pasta. I can run 10mins in one direction and come across at least 7 times the exact same place
- The fight and parcour mechanics feel very wonky
- The obstacles on the roofs feel superartificial
- DL1 has better characters
- The difficulty of nightchases is very low in DL2
- I've come across many bugs and glitches in DL2 in a short time
- There are hiding places in DL2 like high grass or under tables, but they don't work correctly and serve no purpose
- The menu is very clunky because it was made for controllers and i'm missing options to turn of all the bad postprocessing effects
- Updating DL1 with DL2 ads is a scumbag move
DL2 is playable but you can notice that something went pretty bad in the production and it's an inferior product to DL1.
