Disappointed in Bozak Horde
It really has nothing to offer the single player. And having to restart the entire trials ladder after losing 3 lives is more frustrating than fun. At least saving your progress as you fight your way through the trials would give single players something to look forward to besides continually grinding through the same repetitive fights.

Our thread was posted on Kotaku! Lets hope the developers pay attention.

I hate to say it but yeah, this is a terribly designed bit of DLC.

Now the idea I like. There's nothing about the scenerio that I particularly hate. Races and obstacle courses can be fun and I want a challenge after beating the game and playing for a bit on hard mode. But this is bad implementation. The constant countdown clock just adds stress and any mild screw-up in your moves is punished. Add to that the 3 life limit and it just becomes painfully frustrating. And having multiple players helps but not by much.

And the bow doesn't seem worth it. I'm not talking about the stats either. The key to the bow is that it's a ranged stealth weapon right? When is that useful? During the actual game. But if you have to have maxed out your skills in order to beat the DLC, then what's the point? You win golden weapons and a bow, but you've probably already beaten all the sidequests that you could have used those on. And it's not like any of the rewards would help you run the Challenge any better. There are no upgrades, no items, nada.

And the difficulty means you can't really beat it during the early game either. It just doesn't really work.

It's very dissapointing.

yes time limits are terrible and i agree they add too much stress to gameplay. i think the only game i have ever enjoyed a time limit on was the original steel battalion on xbox lol.

like i stated erlier i think after getting the bow if you make a new game you have it unlocked from the start as well as the arrow blueprints.

or they could and should add a new game plus feature. i think a NG+ feature thats repeatable would make this game alot of fun, who wouldnt want to go through the game form the start at max level?

yes. Techland devs don't balance those things.

The bow could be (occasionally) useful in the very early game, but to try to get it, you need to lvl up everything... what it will happen at the end of the game or even in the post-game.

With the weird DLC weapons they failed too. They are usable only at the beginning of the game, but players are not prepared yet to understand and to craft properly... And when they are ready, the weapons are obsoleted.

i think the special DLC weapon patterns should scale with your level. or any pattern that makes a weapon.

I have always despised Timed and obstacle games, I did not do more than 1 or 2 of the timed or running quests in Dying Light. For me they are just a pain in the Proverbial and I was wise enough to watch a few Videos before buying the DLC " so I did not ", I waited because I thought it was going to be an Arena DLC and I hate those as well, give us a DLC similar to the game play in the main game, and the majority of people would be happy.

i think if it was an arena/horde mode it would have been so much better than this, even though those are boring and lazily done as well. i completly agree with the timed thing. its too frustrating.

that bow is sucks... i have all kind of arrows and sometimes i have to shot 3 arrows in the head to kill Average zombie, only explosive arrows do some damage but i was expecting something more from that dlc anyway

The bow is not supposed to be the ultimate weapon.
On some cases it works like a charm, making things actually easier sometimes.
And on some occasions, it just sucks. Like every other weapon in the game...

It's just a matter of using the right tool for the right work.

on normal difficulty is pretty cool, but the true is any melee weapon with good handling above 1000 damage is for any occasion the best tool for everything, but bow is the best weapon for me if is coming to play for fun because on normal difficulty is fun or when you play be the zombie, if someone need my help with level bozak feel free to send me a message and i would love to help you finish that stupid map, i understand flustration because i was goind thru same and is easy finish by your self, for example for me was easier than playing with someone because if someone die you lossing your chance too, i made 27 minutes playing solo, btw i made short movie with all kind of arrows, short gameplay if someone is curious how that weapon might be powerful playing during the night on normal difficulty:

For single-player they should give you the option to have infinite lives but your time won't post to the leaderboards, particularly for console players who can't reprogram the run function to something other than the terrible joystick click and have to pay for online functionality to do co-op.

Has anyone beat it in coop mode? The demolisher's health is OP as it is, any more than 1 player and it doesn't even come off.
delo Aug 17, 2015 @ 1:10pm
Nothing is OP or too hard in this DLC.
The disclaimer, when you enter the Bozak lobby, says "It's going to be hard, especially if you're alone".
So, no need to whine when you get killed for the 12th time: you've been warned. By the developpers themselves. In game. Right on the middle of your screen.

It's possible to beat it solo.
LOTS of players did that.
No ninja-style reflexes required.
Just memory
And aiming
And parkour
And patience

And no, no, NO wreckless running in the middle of the arenas, swinging your machete all around you like an idiot while shouting insults in german. Never. It doesn't work.

It's way easier when you are 2 players, also. Finishing it alone is definitely the hardest way to make it... but it's the most challenging and most rewarding too!

I honestly dont understand why people hate so much on this DLC. Its great for what it is, and is fun and challenging.(as well as a cool reward) Also its not as hard as people say it is, with enough pratice you'll be able to pass all Bozaks trials very easily.

It's true it is simply memorizing and hitting your marks to beat Bozak but the list of glitches I have seen beating solo by myself and then beating it 10 times with others is that some glitches are ffaaaaarr worse than others.

SPOILERS

Glitches:

-Not getting the mask or achievment for Togther Till the End
-Bomb door doesn't activate and you die
-never ending elevator with virals
-last package for drop doesn't activate
-Sometimes you get the Bow with the arrows sometimes you just get the bow and cant craft arrows. :/
-throwing the final gas can through the hole, it gets stuck on the ledge
-dying falling on the edge of a awning that is supposed to catch you

When Bozak throws you a glitch bone:

-Only a few virals on the elevator
-Bombers don't spawn
-No virals only Demolishers on second to last trial

These are all easy to overcome by simply dying and then continuing. But these achievment glitches are not acceptable by any means. That should have been sorted out a long time ago.
