I don't remember the default equipment cycle buttons but in the controls menu there is an option to both bind a key to cycle through equipment, open a quick equipment menu and just select an equipment item in slot.
How do you not have a middle mouse button? Does it still have a ball underneath it? I'm pretty sure any mouse made within the last ten years has one.
They ignite oil spills, killing biters near them.
They cause the bombers to explode.
Of course, camouflage, throwing weapons, and just meleeing is more effective, once you have leveled up. But before that, they are useful.
